I wouldnt mind picking Chambers up
Atleast he can hold onto the ball. I just go back to that hit Page unloaded on him last year and he held on.

that was the reason they released him
at least this year, he’s been unable to hold onto the ball…I remember seeing him drop several easily catchable balls during the Chargers-Broncos game. He has 4 official dropped passes this year (12th in league), 1 behind Bowe, who is 5th.

hmm didnt realize that
I guess I just based that off that one play…

wow.. that seems odd...
I wonder if they are doing a roster shuffle like the Pats did a couple weeks back… or if he’s really out of there.
I can’t imagine he will clear waivers

does he really have to go through waivers?
i thought as a vested veteran when you got cut you became a free agent immediately

Yes, please.
Presuming he makes it to us on the waiver wire, I’d gladly take him over some of the “22 guys off the street” we’re holding onto right now.

According to the NFL.com standings ...
It would be:
1) Bucs
2) Rams
3) Browns
4) Titans
5) Chiefs
6) Lions
That is, if their overall league standings are reflective of the waiver wire listings.

31 years old
no one will take that 2.4 mil hit, he would help us, but really….kind of pointless to bring him in at this point in his career….I can see a couple teams very interested, playoff teams, maybe a team like the steelers, the jaguars, a team that has a chance at the playoffs…heck, denver would fit.

Can he play Center or Guard?
If not I will take a pass…. Chambers has been in decline for the past couple years. None of our receivers will reach full potential with our line in shambles.
Yet I agree with stag… if he is picked up drop Bobby Engram.

Im guessing they released him because
1. he hasn’t been reliable…He’s barley caught any balls this season.
2. Malcom Floyd is emerging and im pretty sure he will take the #2 spot at WR.
3. They are making room for a LB.

The Story Goes
he was released because of;
a) the emergence of Malcolm Floyd
b) the play of Legadu Nanee
I’m surrounded by Chargers idiots out here and they provided me with the scoop…
Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

He'd be a perfect fit for the rest of the stone hands receivers we have
no thanks.. please no more scrap heaps.
by golfbard on Nov 2, 2009 4:09 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I would take him
Any guy available that is an upgrade anywhere on the roster should be brought in….imo.
We signed Engram and Toomer…..Pioli or Haley doesnt have any issues with older WR.

Makes you wonder why they let him go...
They do have some morons for Coach/GM so he could be decent…
Haley would be able to tell if anyone can.

IF he clears waivers
then I would be okay if we picked him up in free agency. Cut Engram for him.
I'm officially on the 'Draft Eric Berry' train.

PASS!
We have enough to bitch about with Bowe dropping balls. No thanks.
