Bah!

29 is already taken by Leon Hall
Looks like Larry Johnson will have to go back to his 2.7 way of life.
For what?

For being so quick to stand up for his new teammate Cedric Benson
Since LJ is clearly incapable of performing the actions mentioned in his tweets, he must be talking about Benson.

I think that someone should clue LJ in
that he has to GET ON THE FIELD first.

Presumably he's talking about our cheerleaders.
Because that’s the way he acts towards women, not defenses.

Yep.
Say all the right things when you are here…as soon as he signed, I KNEW he’d go off.
What a classless piece of sh*t

LMAO
LJ is such a leech. I like Ocho a lot and hope he gives LJ the cold shoulder.
You mean leech like
how he throws up Jay-Z’s sign on the rare occasion he scores a TD?

Well Dorsey, Edwards, Jackson will have something to say about that!
And Corey Mayes will Stuff LJ’s worthless ass.
We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09
And Succop will be the Key in two of them. Washington & Oakland!
" Think and talk positive football off the field." Hank Stram
It will suck
To know that he’s receiving his game day check in week 16 from the team he’s playing against. Can we take x amount of money away for each yard he gains?
Makes you wonder
Did he limit his options to playoff contenders that also play the Chiefs before the season ends?
I would doubt it myself
Just kind of interesting that as soon as he’s signed he’s talking about running on the Chiefs when they don’t even play until week 16.
Man he really just doesnt get it!
He is going to get his ass beat with soap in a sock from everyone on that team as soon as he opens his trap when the team breaks it to him that he is 4th string! Feels so good to let this guy go. And to take a quote for OchoCinco himself….. " [Larry Johnson’s] play is a distraction!" from what he said about Guexchoue… or however the hell you spell his name
i highly doubt that
not cause i dont want it to happen, but because that whole team is made up of LJ’s. the bengals were the best possible team for LJ to go to and feel the most re-born. you’re gonna tell me during his visit they didnt talk about the fact theyve had problems with chris henry and still re-signed him? or ced bens boat incident? still signed him. tank johnson? illegally owning guns? signed him…THEY DONT CARE. THEY ARE ALL CRIMINALS.
Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...
really good criminals...

WOW I hate this 2.7 now more than ever
Bowe and Wade FTW.
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
Hahahahahah
I don’t think anyone understands what he was really saying
What he meant is he’s going to gallop all over the chiefs visiting sidelines ; washing cleat prints from the starters chests. Mud in his facemask… You know cuz it’ll probably get all dirty sitting at the foot of the bench..
Ughh LJ is a genius we just are too stupid to comprehend….. or are we

Wishin we had Bernie Pollard...
To end his season.
I know, that’s about as classy as he is, but this quote really sets me off.
LOL Im not afraid of a 4th string RB!!!
Bowe and Wade FTW.
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
I don't think you guys really comprehend the 4th string concept.
You know how KC runs 3 RBs lately? Charles, Smith and Savage? It’s like that. If Benson doesn’t play then the other 3 backs will be splitting carries. They aren’t signing him to sit him on the bench and he most likely will see carries at some point this season.
then why did
marvin lewis say that he would be inactive on game days?
Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...
he will be unless benson doesnt play...
if benson is injured (and he already is questionable probably) then LJ will get some carries. Lewis just wants to reassure Benson he is the guy. Typical team politics. Don’t be fooled.
im aware of that
but theres speculation that benson isnt hurt, and is already a game-time decision. and they LOVE brian leonard. i dont see LJ carrying the ball thsi week and i dont see benson being injured past this week so i dont see LJ playing at all.
Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...
If I'm...
not mistaken the Bengals game is the last of the year. They could have seeding locked up making it a meaningless game. I can see a scenario where LJ gets the bulk of the carries against us.
by I_Bleed_Red. on Nov 16, 2009 10:19 PM CST up reply actions
Next to last
Last game is the Broncos at Denver.
you cant forsee injuries....
if he is injured now there is a greater chance he will get injured later this season. I don’t see him carrying the ball this week regardless as well. But if Benson gets banged up and doesn’t start later down the road, trust me they won’t hesitate to use him. Of course they will, why wouldn’t they? LJ and Lewis both know if Benson is injured then all the backs will get carries, at least until one steps forward as an obvious best option, and the Bengals aren’t sure what they’ve got with LJ yet so we’ll see how it plays out. He may go to a few practices and they’ll realize he sucks, or he may show them something, dunno.
Point is, so many people are acting like LJ won’t see the field at all this season when realistically he is just one Benson injury away. Until then, he’ll be inactive most likely.
they arent gonna give the ball to LJ
over bernard scott or brian leonard. i promise you.
Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...
its split carries...
im not saying he gets 20 carries.. he’ll probly get like 5.. if the scenario comes up
Even though he isn't strictly a bench warmer, he isn't gonna carry the ball enough time to develop his rhythm...
He needs his rhythm or else!
I hope he starts throwing a hissy fit and command the ball constantly like TO.
LJ: GIMME BALL!!!
Bengals: We’re playing defense!
LJ: BALL!!!
Until...
He works hard and proves himself in practice to get bumped up. I mean he did it here, several people mentioned how hard he was working. I bet LJ gets play time against us, and unfortunately we will probably lose but it should be fun to watch the blood bath.

yeah im mad at the oline
when jamaal charles goes for 100 and a TD on the raiders. and is averaging triple the amount LJ was on the ground.
Give Todd Haley a full regular and off-season to build Bowe's Cassel, and we will all wreap the benefits...
yeah I forget who but one of the ESPN "analyst" put it well
he said something along the lines of the game has passed running back like Larry Johnson by and people with his “skill” set cannot be feature backs anymore. Because the league is getting bigger and faster you have to be an absolute beast like MJD and AP which LJ is not.. As far as having anything left in the tank? LJ belongs on the bench
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.
Agreed
Feature backs are a fading trend in the NFL. Larry Johnson can no longer fit into that role. NFL backs now need to be more versatile coming out of the back field.

Versatility has ALWAYS been huge for RBs.
Just not a whole lotta people paid attention to how it changes the entire complexion of the game. Most are more interested in an extra step of speed or a physical beast.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
Before anyone says "but it was the Raiders"
LJ had his shot at the Raiders, at home. He got 78 yards on 24 attempts. 3.3 YPC
Just so the numbers are right by each other
Charles: 18 attempts, 108 yards, 5.7 YPC.
Oh and the Chiefs first rushing TD of the season.
Not to mention...
the rushing TD was a 40+ yard home run. That is Chris Johnson esk.
by I_Bleed_Red. on Nov 16, 2009 10:55 PM CST up reply actions
Hittin' the home run CAN be the difference when your team can't move the ball in more conventional ways.
That’s why Charles and Smith are better for the current squad. Longer term, I think the Chiefs should have an Edgerrin/Faulk/Tomlinson kind of back, who can do it all.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
Charles might be that kind of complete back, with the extra gear thrown in.
It’s easy to underestimate him, because he just doesn’t look like a beast. But I liked the balance and toughness he showed in a not-very-good situation for RBs. You don’t see a whole lot of daylight in the ’09 Chiefs offense, and being able to hit the home run when he DID get that opening on 4th and short was just what KC needed.
But let’s keep our heads clear on this. Take away the home run and suddenly it’s a 2.7 ypc kind of day for Charles, same as for ’most any RB in the league on this KC squad.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
Will he even be active for them ever?
Not a lot of teams using 4 RBs on game day….What a moron.
Don't forget to be an AP-vangelist...Tell A Friend...
It was a mistake to cut him and now LJ's going to make us pay. More power to him.
I love my Chiefs but we fucked this one up, Jarrad Allen trade fucked up proportions.
"What?!?! I aint no Obama for the weed!"
-Turk McBride
I disagree
No matter what he goes on to do, he was never going to do it here. The start to this season showed that.
Also, I wouldn’t put it anywhere near the Allen trade. Barring injury, Allen is going to be a force in the league for around 3-4 years if not more. Larry’s career is almost over.
Good point...maybe he was being quite literal.
Don't forget to be an AP-vangelist...Tell A Friend...
I wonder how much he will be making in the 10-11 season...
hope he has a good investor since his fat paychecks will be coming to a close soon

Predictions for 2009:
The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ
Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.
The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays
Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for
Chiefs 3-13

If we had given LJ a real offensive line, I'm sure he could've done well.
But we didn’t, and Charles is able to work better behind that line than LJ has all season, so I’m not too upset. LJ has been one of my favorite Chiefs players throughout this whole thing, and I think I’m going to miss him more than anyone else. I love Tony, I love Jared, but I watched LJ play in high school. Watched his tape. I loved LJ. Rocked his jersey every monday, win or lose. Now? His jersey is hanging up on my wall. I don’t know if it’s going to stay up there much longer though. He was part of this team a week ago. I don’t think he put his cleats on anyones chest while he was here. And I’m sure these guys aren’t gonna like to hear him saying this kinda stuff. He should show a little bit of respect.

Penn State to Kansas City...Always a winning combination.
LJ's agent should be fired

The good news is that since LJ now hates the Chiefs so much, I assume he will refuse their paychecks for the rest of the season.

The thing being lost here is that LJ doesn't get that it was his mouth that lost his job.
I feel bad for the Bengals. They actually had a shot this year but the football gods will surely make them pay. You are allotted exactly one mouth per team and they are exceeding their quota now.
But seriously, it takes a pretty big set to to talk shit to the team that just cut him. I mean, doesn’t this sound like something somebody in high school would write?

if LJ thinks hes coming back to arrowhead as a chief to rush for 55 yards, he needs to realize the fans, and more importantly our best tackler(not colquitt) KC WOLF would own him…2.7 has nothing on the wolf.
Yeah, and Charles gets 5.7 behind that same line.
