Charles showing up. Coaches and Players improving.
I have been saying it for awhile. Finally we have are RB who is still averaging over five yards per carry and not on plays that are 3rd and 15. Charles in alot of ways resembles Chriss Johnson. Charles showed off his speed on several plays. Charles has shown promise on KR but after Sunday its aparant we need him fresh to carry the load. We have got to get someone else in there. I am still waiting to see Lance Long get a chance.
The O-line showed that they are average and not as horrible as LJ the WRs have made them look. With the addition of Charles to the starting rotation, Chambers, Lance Long and Pope the O showed some life.
I saw better play all the way around Sunday. We were better in every phase of the game. 3rd down was still terrible and still to long consistantly. Cassel actually had some good plays and nice touch passes to go along with his bad ones. He had his best game. Showed a GLIMPS of light at the end of the tunnel.
Chambers for the second week in a row made me happy he is here. It looks to me like he is making Bowe pick it up alittle as well so THANK YOU to Chriss Chambers! Lance Long does his job is looking good and Bradley had a decent game again but had a bad drop. Pope had a penalty or two but gave us an actual blocker at TE Sunday and is a player that is making us better.
The play calling on both sides of the ball was improved Sunday but could be better. Overall I was satisfied with the way the game was managed. There were a couple plays the players missed that would of made it look alot better.
On D we had are best game. It was not tight in the secondary all day and we still gave up a big play in the run game, but our Rookies showed major strides. Our NTs both had a pretty good game. The LBs had the best performance of the year so far.

As big a critic as I am
I surprised by the number of negative comments going on.
The positive improvments that are visible. It leaves me with only one option to be optimistic with who we have. (Cassel still has ALOT to prove).
They admitted it they are just now starting to figure out who and what they have. So from this point on we should see improvment. I saw it Sunday even though it was the Raiders and we might lose that game to a better team. There were definate improvments and better play.

Thanks for being positive kcchiefstd
Our team still needs lots of help in a lot of areas, but I don’t see the point in only thinking about the bad stuff.
Feeling "The Love" and "Drinking the Kool AId"
omg...here comes KING KOOLAID himself...what's up porkchop? (-:
I think I’ll get outta here now…this post scares me…I’m outnumbered by the kool aiders!

Great post
We need more of this kind of thinking. Its just miserable for everybody to harp on the bad all the time. Another good thing happening is Atlanta not having the year they were expecting to have when they traded us there 2nd round pick. I see 3 more losses for them too.
Thanks for being positive
but I don’t think that was Cassel’s best game. His best game in my opinion was the dallas game, and he had a good 2nd half against JAX.
And I think the play of our D had more to do with the OAK offense than our actual defense.
Chiefs 2010 big board-
Eric Berry
Dez Bryant
Taylor Mays
Rolando McClain
Russel Okung
Exactly...
Yesterday I really went back and forth about watching the game or going a playing football with my 3 year old son. I chose to watch the game and football was at halftime.
After the first 5 minutes of the game I was thinking OH Here we go again. Then the Chiefs seemed to settle down. I felt that as the game went on the Chiefs felt like they were more like a team.
I have not had enough Kool-Aid to believe the yesterday was a good performance. I thought I saw a ton of areas that have me a little on edge.
Yet the thing I saw that was most encouraging was the overall team. When the offense screwed up i.e. the fumble at the 50. What did that cost us? The defense stepped up. When the D decided to open like a seive for Michael Bush they adjusted.
I felt that overall people made a short steps to playing like a team. I honestly think that the Chiefs are going to more than a handful next week with the Steelers. I just want them to play better than they did against the Chargers. Which I believe was the last team the Chiefs played after a win.
Just my 2 cents.
WE lost to WHO?
Cassel
Cassel Suck (he got rid of the S this week but he still has a long way to go.)
I thought he played well
Still some errors but he looked much more in control. He had a quicker release and was takin’ shots downfield.
Don’t know who to blame for the goofy handoffs and playfakes (Cassel, Charles, or both)
It is a new Era at Arrowhead. I do not yet know if it is one of greatness or one of ineptitude. I am excited to see which way it goes, and will support my team until the end, bitter or sweet!
In Cassel/Charles defense...
If you notice on the play down by the goal line (I can’t remember who it was for the Raiders) but a D-lineman was already in Charles face before Cassel gave him the ball. I can only assume that Charles natural instinct was to move more right to avoid a big hit (and to make sure he got the ball). That’s why it looked so sloppy…but if Charles hadnt done that, it would have been a huge face plant into big Raider boobies. Ewww…
Saw that
There were a couple of other instances of poor handoffs that were inexcusable, though.

appreciate the positive post
the fact is, this team has been changing nearly every week, and is very young overall, including the head coach.
It is going to take time to bring it all together, and 2009 is very much an evaluation/building year… so you have to keep your expectations low, and focus on the positives.
Charles looked VERY good… I would keep feeding him the ball all season, and from here on out.
I was happy to see the defense CLOSE out a game… (yes, I know, DHB sucks which helped… but they did close it out)
I didn’t see much of the game, but hearing Magee applying pressure is a GREAT sign… getting contributions from him will only help this young DL improve, and eliminate the need to replace any of the DE’s next year…
I really like the receivers now. I know, 3 drops isn’t great… but it isn’t that bad either, and they did make some big plays. Keep throwing the ball, mixing it up, and opening the offense for Charles, and good things will happen

I don't have to imagine it..
I SAW it on that 44 yd TD run.
IF they could block like that on a regular basis, the Chiefs would be killing people

we can only hope that Romeo gets his hip healed up!
That way he can come in and we can actually have a decent defence.

Still a long way to go for this team
It’s nice to get a win but, it’s hard to accurately gauge any progress when playing against the Raiders.
I just hope to see a solid, mistake free game against Pittsburgh next week. Win or lose, it would be nice to see a solid effort for 4 quarters for once.
hey 1970!! how are you ? (-:
Yah I think so too. I really just need to see a solid performance for 4 quarters and I’ll start to settle down a bit with all this hoopla.
Even that Raiders game didn’t look good for us. We got lucky their so bad. But all I’ve wanted all season is just to see a good solid improved performance by our Chiefs. I bet we’ll play good against Cleveland..
And now we gotta face LJ this year haa haa…the irony…we should all wear wife beaters to the game. LOL!
Your optimism is welcome, Thanks!
On the other hand, the game was a nail biter to the end. I felt that we were the better team coming into the game. When the last few seconds ticked off the clock. I was’nt too sure. The Raiders would have handily beat us had it not been for their painfully horrible QB.
Being a Chiefs fan has been very difficult this year. I can’t imagine how a Raiders fan must feel like.
Anyhow, all I can hope for against Pittsburgh is that the Chiefs don’t embarass us too much & play a respectable game.
Go Chiefs.
Well. We won't get respect unless we pull off the miracle win against Pitts.
Beating the Raiders is barely an accomplishment now.
Bowe and Wade FTW.
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.
It was too close,
but the Chiefs are improving. We have a good recieving unit now and a better running back out there. I completely agree that this makes our line look better. Of course Goff is out, so that really helps. Still, it may have been the recievers for the Raiders that turned the tide in our favor. They dropped a big percentage of their passes and many of those drops were big plays.
