SNF Patriots vs Colts Open Thread
Where: Lucas Oil Stadium
Tonight the 6-2 Patriots visit the 8-0 Colts in a battle between two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL or even in NFL history. The question is can the Colts stay undefeated? The Saints have already moved to 9-0 today defeated the St. Louis Rams and will be the only undefeated team if the Colts fall to the Pats tonight. Oh yeah we won today! Geaux Chiefs! (shout out to Steve Chiefs) Mike Brown ended up being our savior even after killing us the rest of the season so big thanks to him! Get your early predictions out guys! Lets have a good night we are going to bed with a W!

They are talking about LJ going to the Bengals because of Benson's injury
They do have a reputation for taking troubled players…

depends on the severity
hip flexor strains can be painful as a mofo. He should be able to play through it but it definitely won’t be easy.

I need Reggie Wayne to have a monster game
I’m up by four and Wayne is my last player and he has Ray Rice and Stephen Gostowski.

Nothing you said was bad. My only point was to ask that we refrain from looking at all the negatives from the game and bask in the positives for a while. Namely, a win.

You left out my favorite thing
2 QB roll outs perfectly defended. We didn’t defend 2 roll outs correctly all of last year. Best progress I’ve seen to date. And our D held when we needed it to do so, something that also didn’t happen at all last year. Lot’s of negatives, but those were outstanding. I say that because I’m not ready to drink the Charles kool-aid yet. He still puts the ball on the ground too much.

I'm talking about how many times he lost the ball once he hit the ground
That’s an extremely bad indicator. He’s going to cost us a game if he doesn’t fix it. Lot’s of upside but he HAS to fix that.

He got hammered on that one though
Not an excuse but he was double teamed and took a hell of a shot.
The rest of the play will be used to show what idiots the Chiefs and Raiders are. I didn’t watch Olbermann but unless he ran out of time because of the late game he would use that one.

I liked the more agressive style of offense
We threw more down field today than usual. Chambers did well and D Bowe did well and the Raiders have a pretty good 2ndary. It wasn’t a great game…too many mistakes and dropped balls but I liked the more aggressive style.

My opponent has him. I don’t know why I’m in FF this year. I decided to take the year off but then my brother-in-law asked me to take over an abandoned team in his league.
My first year of FF was the year before Marcus came to KC (92?). I thought it was time for a break.

IF and its a pretty big IF Belichick got fired...
He would be offered the most ridiculous contract offers from a lot of teams… Almost instantly. No coach would be safe

Belichick is suffering from a very serious case of elaphantitis...
his balls are so swollen he couldn’t actually see the game.

Totally
I might be able to understand if the Pats sucked and had nothing to lose, but still…DAMN THAT WAS STUPID.

I understand the move...
Giving it to Manning or punting to Manning, with 2 minutes left I liked the Colts chances either way. Not justifying it, but still.

I'd rather have Manning go 70 yards in 2 min than 30 yards in 2 min.
Just…I mean…

Im not sure I would ever go for it on 4th down
behind your own 40/45 yard line. Of course unless you are losing.

if you punt the colts may win.. if you dont make it on 4th the colts WILL win..
he didn’t think that one through very well… think about the consequences and where you are on the field.
by Lucasjr5 on Nov 15, 2009 10:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
I think he thought it through...
But I think Belichick didn’t think there was any chance he wasn’t getting those 2 yards. And if Faulk didn’t bobble the ball they had it.

there is always a chance...
thats just way to big a gamble… your D has been relatively affective versus manning… if you cant stop someone with 2 minutes left then you need to work on your defense, you dont go for it on your own 30
by Lucasjr5 on Nov 15, 2009 10:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Im not disagreeing with you...
But Im not sure we are able to think like Belichick. Why wouldn’t he think his offense was unstoppable.

Oh christ yeah...
Something tells me that game wont be anywhere near the spread… Unlike this one. My friend and I who bet on almost every primetime game I told him to just pick one and i would take the other, because it was gonna be so close and with a 2.5 spread anything can happen… I still won.

If the Pats hadn't wasted 2 TO's
they could have challenged the spot on that 4th and 2, and it would have been close, but after having looked at it (thank God for DVR’s) a few times, I’m convinced that the officials spotted that ball too far back and the Pats had that first down. What a difference a challenge there could have made.
