Coverage of the game leading up to now is here.

If the Chiefs lose today, it's going to be really hard for me to keep smiling about the progress. Rebuilding or not; new head coach or not; young QB or not...This is a game the Chiefs should win.

I think Todd Haley understands how important this game is for the fans and for the morale of the team. That's why the Chiefs will win today, 24 to 16. Get your predictions in in the comments.

GOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!

I picked three field goals for the Raiders

because of Janikowski. I think the Raiders will get their field goal chances this game.

And 24 points for the Chiefs?

Whoa this isn’t a Brodie Croyle led offense, buddy! Slow down.

Keys to the game

#1: Pound the rock – I’m sure that Charles and Smith can manage some respectable numbers against a soft run defense

#2: Convert third downs – If there were as many dropped balls as there were in past games, then all of the Chiefs receivers will need to attend the Fred Biletinikoff School of Receiving.

#3: QB Pressure – Keep Cassel clean and make Russel panic. He has a cannon so you have to respect it but put a hand in his face and he is pure garbage

3 --- apparently he just added a 53 yder

Insane. Many young kickers can have a day like this, but predicting kicker success etc. is nearly impossible to determine.

Good for him

I am happy for the guy. Hopefully he can keep it up and make a career for himself. Any day you kick 3 50 + FG’s is a dan impressive day.

Watching New Orleans & the Rams here. Not saying its a good game but it is a competitive game: 21 to 17 Saints just starting the 4th.

we just miss the 30 point mark

UCrawford will eventually calm down and realize that Haley isn't a bad coach.
Will embrace the Fire Haley Bandwagon if we lose to the raiders by more then a TD...
..But we aren't going to lose.
LJ will not land in Pittsburgh
The Chiefs will not be the number one pick in this years draft
The Chiefs first pick of the draft will NOT be a OL

I like Gus Johnson, but Tasker is horrible. Did you hear him as he discovered that penalty? Here’s me, in Taiwan, screaming at the screen.

Tasker: DERDERDER, I’M NOT SURE WHY WE NEED TO KNOW IF IT’S A DEAD BALL FOUL, STOOPID REFEREEEEEE
Me: If it’s a dead ball, it negates the play
Tasker: EEHEUHEUGRUH, WHY IS HALEY SO UPSET?
Me: Dead ball.
Referee: Dead ball, etc.
Tasker: WAIT, HOLD ON FELLAS, I DECIPHERED IT. HERE IS WHY THAT IS IMPORTANT.

its 53 and 1/3 yards from sideline to sideline. And 20 yards down field.

So draw a Right TRIANGLE with 53 yards on one side and 20 yards on the other, then
A^2 + B^2 = c^2 will tell you what the yardage on the diagonal (the path of the ball) is.
You cant just add the numbers together.

If you COULD then you could add the length + the width on your TV together and say that was the size of your TV (which woulpd also be wrong)

Predictions for 2009:

The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ

Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.

The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays

Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for

Chiefs 3-13
