Today of all days keep it simple
No need for trickery
On this day as we head west to play our most hated rivals it seems to me that the simpler we keep things the better odds we have of winning. For the raiders points are always at a premium so ball security is the first key to success today. The fact that the raiders have a whole total of two touchdown passes should make the job of stopping the run all the easier..hell put 9 or 10 within 5 yards of the ball and bring the heat. Make their weakest skill player i.e. their quarterback beat us...i dont believe he can.
Offensively we can exploit the middle of the raiders running the ball if we stay committed to it along with a few screen passes should open up any throwing lanes necessary to be successful in the passing game. But as i said eaelier the most important aspect is ball security as the raiders are not the type to drive long distances,,do not give them a short field and a win is a certainty.
Last and certainly not least is penalties. We need to keep our penalties to a minimum so we have manageable down and distances which create favorable play calling and low turnover risks. Keep it simple today chiefs and we could win by 10 or more.

mcfadden and some penalties did
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers

That is not correct.
Russell passed the entire drive except for McFadden’s 5 yd TD run
McFadden only accounted for 25 yards on that drive…20 of those yards were passes from Russell.
Also, Russell passed for 47 yards on that drive to players other than McFadden.
Russell beat us.
OAK had more penalties against them than the Chiefs on that drive. The Chiefs only had 1 penalty enforced against them on the drive…and it was on a Raiders first down, so it isn’t as though that 1 penalty definitively kept the drive alive.

That penalty was on a 1st and 15
It wasn’t the only reason the drive was extended. They still would have had 2nd, 3rd, and 4th downs to gain the resultant 18 yards for a first if the sack had stood.
If that penalty had been on 3rd or 4th down, then I could see it having been the sole reason the drive was extended.

No, it was on 1st and 15.
The play by play I posted above is from cbssports.com. Here is the play by play by NFL.com
In fact, here is a video highlight of that play from NFL.com. You can clearly see it was 1st and 15.
Apparently, you don’t remember it correctly.
