not to take anything away from michael but THIS IS IT
just one time
Withwhat i am about to post is certianly going to warrant many responses but as a 30 year veteran chief fan with years of seasons tickets and yearly craziness towards the chiefs i have just found myself to the point of the buck stops today,we beat these raiders and you will keep as avid a chiefs fan as you have everhad. i wish i could count the hours of research, thinking and scenarios for chiefs gamesbut after these last 4 years and the past 2 in particular i becomes obvious to me its time to take a stand, This team had no business losing the first raiders game and if we lose this one today it is the straw that broke this once proud chiefs fan. With the gross difference in quarterback and the fact that if our offensive line can give our qb anytime should make anyone feel good about it. the raiders have 2 total touchdown passes for the year so come tomorrow night i think a good mixture of early runs and quick passes and maybe even e turnover or 2 and i will be here for my lifetime which is what i truly want...all the years sitting and enduring the great nineties win and disappointments makes this game mean so much more than s super bowl to me. i`m only 53 but i am beginning to wonder if the chiefs will rise and win the ultimate game in my lifetime..they have won 1 and maybe i am greedy but i can only wish to see my team win one more as i did when i was 13 and watched again at ten thirty on the replay on tv5.oh those were the days.. Chiefs give me a WIN today,,,,bill h

Sorry duder but if you quit on the Chiefs EVER...
Then you’re not a real Chiefs fan. A true Chiefs fan would never quit on his team. He’d stand by there side through the thick and the thin. It’s kinda like a really sick and twisted marriage…

Agreed.
If they’re so bad and you can’t take it anymore, just take some time away. Sucks you have had to wait so long, but if you’re a fan, you have pride in your team no matter what.

perhaps you are right worc
Maybe after the game i can decide if maybe it would just be better totake the rest of they year off or keep plugging away…being a chiefs fan is not for the feignt of heart and i know that. I will ponder that remark later today as i decide just what this exasperated chiefs fan is going to do.

Didn't follow the title of the FanPost...
When the Chiefs are AWFUL, you bitch about THAT, and talk about what needs to change. But you NEVER abandon your Chiefs. :o)
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

you said a lot of responses ...
you might get more comments if you could clean it up a bit …
1) use paragraphs for clarity of thought and separate main ideas
2) avoid run-on sentences like your very first one
3) avoid run-on words when possible
4) say something other than JUST a long-winded rant (and I know long-winded)
5) support whatever you say with facts and logical arguments
just some ideas for you, bill

yeah i`m not an english major
i know i a may not use proper verbage or sentencing, paragraphing etc…and i really dont care if i have any responses to be quite honest. I dont have the time right now for all the facts i know regarding chiefs lore but i do know that today is a must win game for a fan who knows ten fold more about this organization than upamin will ever know. Just win chiefs and get some resemblence of order at one arrowhead drive.

right, cuz you obviously know all there is to know ...
I’m not an English major either, and your point?

upamtn how many
upamtn how many years did you play or coach football…from your awesome analytical mind i would believe for sure no higher than the 12th grade and occasionally got your pants dirty on rainy nites….how many game plans have you ascimilated in all your years…i would bet very few if any..and i dont know it all if i did i wouldn`t be setting here having to explain myself to someone who doesnt know the differnce between dime coverage or an over defense.

to be honest with you, bubster, I never played football ... aside from streetball and pickup games, etc
so I guess that makes me … what, Todd Haley?
as for how much I’ve “assimilated” … in by over half a century, quite a bit … but gee, you know TEN TIMES as much as I do, so GOSH GOLLY seems like I should agree with WHATEVER YOU SAY
(oh, sorry AP, was my sarcasm font on?)

I'm sure your criticism was meant to be constructive.
But it did come across as preachy and superior.
I know I struggled with the “new html” employed by the website for FanPosts. But then I try to do just straight html with “old html,” but I think there’s a WYSIWYG option, there that I’m too proud to use.
I’m glad to hear fro bubster and would like to encourage him, rather than come across all superior to a newbie who SOUNDS like someone who knows a lotta football. It’s like you’re looking a gift horse in the mouth…
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Dont worry bubster. The Chiefs win today. I am 100% sure of it.
Bowe and Wade FTW.

nj i hope you are right...been a lot of sleepless night around here this past weel...i just dont see how we lose if we take care of the ball and bring the heat on russell...a team this bad offensively shouldnt beat anyone more or less the chiefs.

We won and we did NOT take care of the ball.
But we’re showing signs of having some weapons. Chiefs should be competitive next year.

bubster I will risk a warning for upamtn
your post is scattered and has no solid base to work from. I think when a guy like upamtn offers a helpful suggestion so you can have better posts in the future, most people would say thank you.
Usually when people do you a favor you say thanks where I come from anyway. I have no idea how you went from a disjointed rambling post, to bringing up that up’s has no coaching experience.
You don’t need coaching experience to be a cool person and offer to help a member who has obviously not had much experience posting on AP. The fact that he offered a hand in good faith should humble you to apologize for your confrontational attitude.
Most of the time…people just rip you a new one when you post something so absolutely , well I don’t know exactly what to call it, but weak.
However, up’s was being a really cool fellow AP fan and respectfully offered you a few suggestions. You may wish to lose the attitude especially toward ups.
In the future if you’ll cool it, and actually listen to the suggestions up’s made to help you, maybe you’ll actually get someone to read and take your posts seriously.
Don’t let this discourage you, just learn from it. Don’t mess with up’s again ok?

ty for the standup, kray ... and honestly, I was trying to HELP the guy (in my own way)
but by his reply it’s apparant he needs no help or opinions or … anything from anyone, cuz I’m a fairly intellignet guy (on occasion) and well-educated and older than dirt on top of it all, but this guy … wow, ten times smarter than me!
damn, I wish HE was the HC and OC and GM and DC and everything rolled into one … AND my personal financial advisor, too!

So you stood by the Chiefs throughout the futile Peterson years...
…and NOW you’re going to quit being a fan, about halfway through the first season of a new sheriff and deputy? That’s kind of ridiculous.
I honestly don’t see how that makes any sense at all.

not just those years but all the years dude...all the games and with this being the worst of all teams it makes perfectly good sense to me.
by bubster66064 on Nov 15, 2009 2:57 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
this isn't the worst team ever, it isn't even the worst Chiefs team ever ...
for that you have to go back to the late 70’s …
and yes, I know you know TEN TIMES as much as me about The Chiefs Organization, just as you said, bubster, of course … cuz see, I’ve ONLY been following the team since the day they arrived in Kansas City

Word
This isn’t even the worst KC team in the past ten years, I don’t think. It could end up being the worst record-wise, but we’ll have to see how that goes.
It’s not exactly critical thinking when one looks at how KC has been performing in its FIRST SEASON under Pioli and Haley and conclude that KC’s headed in the wrong direction. When a team has been gutted in recent years, as happened on CP’s watch, it’s hard to come right in and take the league by storm. A lot of KC fans have pointed toward Denver and asked why they’re doing so well with a first-year coach, yet KC’s losing. Well, first of all, Shanahan didn’t leave a mostly-bare cupboard, and the majority of his good players weren’t old. That’s certainly the case with KC. Secondly, Denver wasn’t even close to as bad a team in Shanny’s last season as KC was under Herm. Thirdly, Denver’s coming back down to reality as we speak.

the way i see it
if this is in fact the worst chiefs team ever, then things can only get better. Probably/hopefully worth sticking around for ;)

by bubster66064 on Nov 15, 2009 4:03 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
True
But some have pointed toward them as some sort of indication that KC should be able to do better than this. Entering this season, I said 5-11 at best. I think any prediction of more than six wins was extremely unrealistic.
by burntorangehorn on Nov 15, 2009 5:06 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
As a homer, I said 8-8 AND I'M STILL MATHEMATICALLY IN IT, BABY!!!111111!!!!llll1111!!!
But I thought they’d try more to build on what they had, scheme based on what they had, and they did a lot more scrapping of the old and more aggressive switch to 3-4.
Hey, the secondary didn’t look too bad. Flowers showed me more speed today than I’ve been giving him credit for, lately.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

5-11
makes quite a bit of sense.. that would probably be taking one of the two against denver; and beating buffalo and cleveland @ arrowhead. and it would be a step up from last year…which leaves me excited thinking about the future..
