2010 The Plan of all Plans
The Plan of all plans
It has to be FA and the Draft, we will need to sign three guys: LT McNeill (SD), WR Steve Breaston (ARI), and LB Kirk Morrison (OAK). We will HAVE to outbid everyone on these guys. Send Dorsey and our worst fifth to the Bucs for their 2nd and 3rd this year. Then we draft:
R1 #4 SS Eric Berry-Tennessee
R2 #35 C Kris O’Dowd-USC
R2 #36 LB Von Miller-Texas A&M
R2 #51 OT Ciron Black-LSU
R3 #67 FS Deunte Williams-N. Carolina
R3 #68 DT Dan Williams-Tennessee
R4 #100 RB Charles Scott-LSU
R5 #132 TE Aaron Hernandez-Florida
R5 #143 KR Brandon Banks-KSU

wow
Dorsey is starting to look great, that would be a terrible decision to trade him. If you want to give me his stats and tell me about not having any sacks all I have to say is that Jones Drew got 97 yards on like 31 carries in large part due to Glenn Dorsey. I am huge on the Eric Berry bandwagon but I don’t like the rest of the draft
I can see trading Dorsey
But without signing and/or drafting a replacement, isn’t that kind of counter productive. Strengthen one side of the ball while letting the defense suffer. Shades of Vermeil

No Way...
No way we trade Glenn Dorsey. That way we can draft another dlineman? No thanks. That and Dorsey is starting to look good… next year should be his breakout year.
See ya Later Larry Johnson, or now forever known as "2.7"
Plan of all Plans = Just another mock draft.

All to often reality is not factored into a mock, either ...
I love how everyone (ok, not EVERYONE but it seems like it sometimes) …
1) is sure their mock draft is better than anyone else’s
2) do a mock draft while, obviously, having NO CLUE how many (if ANY) players they toss up will actually be available
3) forget that in The Crazy World of Arthur Brown (and Scott Pioli and Todd Haley) there are factors OTHER than, you know, talent … how many of these mock drafters know what makes a player part of “The Right 53” (what, precisely, are the qualifications? I’ve yet to see a comprehensive list of specific traits, has anyone else?)
woodman hit the nail on the head: just another mock draft …

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
I don't mind this post, thanks
I wouldn’t trade dorsey
and, I’m pretty sure Berry projects as a FS… so I wouldn’t draft another FS in the same draft
other than that, not bad
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
Didnt I see this in another thread? lol
Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.
i would not trade dorsey
I agree he is not the best fit in the 3-4 but we do not have enough good football players to keep trading for draft picks.
As much as I would love Mcneil they will not let him go they need him to protect Rivers.
Berry is my favorite player in this draft but right now I would not pass on Okung. Albert has shown me nothing this year at LT and sure he might develop but most elite LT seem to be pretty solid from day 1. Plus he can gain some weight back and be a good guard for years.
I see no reason to replace O’Callaghan right now but would add another mid round tackle for depth maybe a small school development guy.
It seems to me that most of the FA O-line tend to be junk..
i mean, O. Pace is probibly working out okay, and the Peters guy that went to Philly….but really, most of the time their veterans and released for a reason. Lets not go that route and lets draft the best available, then move Albert to the inside. I like younger on the o-line…
i see what you mean
Peters was a trade for a 1st rounder, not a FA…
but, I think KC should build the OL through the draft, primarily
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
that would be better
than through the mock draft

cant use this mock
You have to mock the draft we have…there is no such thing as mock fa signings or mock trades…
We have to use the picks we have to make an accurate mock draft.
But I do like the players you were targeting…

There really aren't these kinds of rules
However, projecting trades that aren’t based on any information are harder to take seriously, because one never knows whether the Bucs would want to give up those picks for Dorsey, or if KC even wants to unload him. I think it’s a more reasonable exercise to just project picks based on the ones the team already has, factoring in the team’s current position in the draft order.
Love Berry. He’s one of my favorite players. Not a huge fan of Black, although I’m usually not a fan of LSU players anyway, so I could be blinded.
The part of the draft projections that really make me think the OPer didn’t really look into the players much is the draft position of Kris O’Dowd. The guy has been injured all season. After busting up his knee in fall camp, he lost his starting job, and he has played terribly in trying to win it back from Byers. He’s now a backup with a bum knee. Not sure that’s worth an early pick.

usually not a fan of LSU players
don’t get down on LSU players.
I expect that Jamarcus, Glenn, and Tyson will have a lot to do with a big Chiefs victory Sunday.
badda bing!

Many thoughts
As far as the TB trade, I believe the Buc’s would draft SUH and trade for Dorsey, thus solving their most glaring probelm. O’Dowd is a superior talent at Center, and I think he would be worth the risk….I believe knee injuries take time (Brady,Peyton) some times over a year. If we did this our OL would be LT McNeill,LG Waters, C O’Dowd,RG Waters,RT Black not bad at all. DL could be Jackson,Edwards/Williams,McGee. Two new LB’s in Morrison and Miller. Replaced both safeties. Steve Breaston is better than Bowe. May be farfetched, but it would be a much better team.
Waters is pretty good (or used to be)
but I don’t think he can play LG and RG at the same time. Just sayin’…

Overall there's plenty I agree with here
however I wouldn’t trade Dorsey and I’d go for an NT in the second round

Trade Dorsey?
It is a good possibility the team trades Dorsey for an additional pick. Another possible trade would be DBowe since we are all speculating. The team may consider trading him to Baltimore as a player for player trade to up-grade the D. The LB Johnson, or one of their picks from last season Kruger.
Dorsey would allow the team to pick-up an additional 2nd. Gresham, TE OU may fall into the 2nd round based upon his injury, but I feel he is the best TE to come out of College FB in some time. He is definitly the best TE in the draft and if he can be had in round 2 and is available the team should not hesitate to take him. Trading Bowe would allow the team to go after Breaston in FA. Breaston and Mankins are the only two players I see Pioli going after. It is just an opinion, but I don’t think he is going to shell a lot of $ in FA unless it is just one player. He has plans to build thrrough the draft.
Still speculating, but I think Mr. P wants Suh in round 1, but might take Cody because Suh is going to go high in round 1. So it all depends on our position as it always does with any draft. If Pitt and NE lose Hampton and Wilfork, they could take Cody in round 1. We’ll just have to wait on Cody’s scouting report at seasons end in order to at least better determine where he might be drafted. But another NT could emerge as a quality player so who knows.
I don’t really like to throw many names out with mock drafts because there will be many changes between now and draft day as to where players rank at their respective positions, but I do like Suh, Cody, Gresham, Spikes, Lake Safety Baylor and many others. Pioli wants players with passion for game so that will have to factor in any player the team picks.
Why trade Dorsey or Bowe?
Neither would bring a pick worth as much to the team as his on-field contributions.
