We've got a whole new set of statistics that we'll be giving you and they're from a fantastic new site we've just discovered - Pro Football Focus.
Pro Football Focus has play percentage stats (as you can see), special teams tackles, run and pass blocking stats and more...It's really an amazing site. Check it out.
To get us started taking a look at these stats, I've posted the percentage that each Kansas City Chiefs defensive player plays on either running plays, passing plays and on special teams.
I've got the linebacker and secondary stats for you after the jump.
If you include special teams, S Mike Brown is actually leads the team in playing time.
I know it sounds geeky but I'm very excited about the possibilities of mining Pro Football Focus for interesting stats. We'll have a lot more of their stats for you over the weekend and coming weeks.
It's Friday, so my laziness is showing through in the lack of analysis on this post. After the jump, the linebackers and secondary playing time stats.

someone correct me if i'm wrong
but nowhere in these statistics can anyone remotely gleam DJ’s lack of playing time. these just show what type of plays the players play most often.
UCrawford will eventually calm down and realize that Haley isn't a bad coach.
Will embrace the Fire Haley Bandwagon if we lose to the raiders by more then a TD...
..But we aren't going to lose.
LJ will not land in Pittsburgh
The Chiefs will not be the number one pick in this years draft
The Chiefs first pick of the draft will NOT be a OL
Thinks UCrawford just needs a hug... offer is there when you are ready UC :p
hate to tell you this
But this site is TERRIBLE. There statistics and the leaders of each group are so skewered its hard to find it credible. Trust me, I’ve. Been on another site that used it for a while then found out its nothing special

Uh, maybe I'm off base,
but this seems more of an indication of what the coaching staff is calling up on defense.
And it probably shows our first down defensive package isn’t getting it done.

I thought we released Colclough and Biesel
Pretty neat site though if it is credible.
we did... but they did play for a bit, so they have stats
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
* Stats are for losers
yep, cool site
but they have tyson jackson ranked as the worst 3-4 de is the league…

Cassel: Attempts=226, Receptions=126 for 55.8% completion percentage ranking 24th in league for passers getting at least 50% of snaps. However, if you simply include the 18 (4th in league) dropped passes you get Att=226, Rec=144, compl=64% for a rank of 10th in league.
Air Cassel - approved for takeoff
