A Question to AP

A question for AP

Chris and Joel have created, IMO, THE Chiefs fan site on the Web. Lots of everything and the content just explodes in directions that I don't think any of us expect! Thus we come back repeatedly, daily, stayed logged in whenever possible:)

My question? Chris and Joel is what other teams site or sites in general guide how you make this thing so good? I think just a part of the answer is the people "Great Chiefs Fans". I wonder off to other SB Nation sites and see good people commenting and posting yet not like AP! Please, just a thought on Why you do this, and what sites YALL feel do a good job. Does Raider Nation even have a site worth checking out? Sorry Nishal and a few others.

I don't want to exclude other AP members to throw out particular football sites that you find great stuff on too!

Geaux Chiefs

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

The reason I keep coming is..

The site is SO SO active. There are always things being posted by Chris, Joel (a lot from Joel actually) and the other moderators and fans. In the new posts section on the home page that shows the new posts over ALL of SBNATION for ALL NFL teams rarely do I see the posts scroll by without one on Arrowhead Pride.

The crew around here are always finding new interesting news and discussion topics to post and it creates a lively atmosphere that is exciting to be a part of. I’ve found no other site with such complete coverage of any team I have ever been a fan of, not only the Chiefs. If there was an award for excellence on a blog then Arrowhead Pride should win it.

Other Good sites

SBNation: Bleeding Green Nation, Mile High Report, and my personal favorite Buffalo Rumblings.

Others: Twitter. I almost never use Google News to find anything anymore. All Twitter, all the time.

Interesting. Been avoiding Twitter as a time vacuum.

Sounds like a great TOOL, though.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

All three of those have great information on them. I also check out Jacksonville’s Big Cat Country as those guys really put out some good stuff. If you get a chance, check out the drive breakdowns from the game last weekend. Here’s the first half.

they are always first with the information...

and they stay positive, no matter how bad things get. Good or Bad, Chiefs fans are different from others…we dont have anything to support our dedication. Some of us are optimistic and some of us are not. We balance ourselves well. LOL. I just wanta personally thank the guys (Chris, Joel, Connor, and Yoon) for giving us a place to vent / rejoice week by week and always the first with the latest and greatest information. Job well done!

Me too

It’s fun figuring out the different personalities and watching the banter from different perspectives. Once in awhile I find myself in agreement with both sides… There are a lot of members on here that are just flat out funny!

Isn't that funny how you can be reading a discussion

between two or three members and just keep readjusting your own ideas as the debate flows. That is awesome :) The humor and knowledge of this group is absolutely amazing.

I keep coming back for the food...

the service and the atmosphere. The drinks are always cold and made just right and you never have to wait in line. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms are clean.

And if you act like an ass you get a warm fuzzy personal warning from the management…I know trust me! I’ve started collecting them so I can give them to my kids one day before I die.

Plus my real name is Chris…so we have that in common.

Oh yah…and even the chicks that come here are cool and know football so…..that’s another good thing.

Lastly, there’s plenty of parking room. GO AP!!

Drinks for everyone…!!

plus I just discovered that one of the moderators name is pronounced "you see"

having a double name is cool so I like that….
also, there’s a newly added moderator whose name is woodman….“wood” man. So when he’s on here first thing in the morning, well….ok I’ll stop right there but just know there was a “morning wood” joke on the way.

Chris and Joel just happen to have the same last name…what a strange coincidence huh? I mean what are the chances that two randomn strangers would end up having the same last name?? Really??

then there’s matt connor…he’s the editor…so he’s the Perry White of this site…GO Superman!!

We have our own DJ…..CHief DJ…

and lasly we have Jon Yoon….who mysteriously has the Dallas Cowboy star for his profile pic…hmmm…but hey, he’s the only moderator that hasn’t issued me a warning so I really love jon.!! GO JON!!

Now on a serious note...

my favorite part besides the obvious flow of information is how I’ve ended up with some cool on line friends in here. I say “how” for a reason.

Hmills and I started out with a big time argument and ended up being friends. Kcguy and I have never agreed on anything except that we don’t agree on anything ever. So he’s my friendly nemesis, but it wouldn’t be the same without him

Darwithabar is our resident grump…like it or not every site needs one. He’s our old man from the muppets that sits in the balcony and trashes everyone.

We have a mental patient who once tripped out for 3 days on cheesecake spores…and now he thinks he’s the morphed personification of Elvis Grbac and Matt Cassel…ya’ll know who I mean he needs no introduction and he’s one of my favorite peeps on AP.

upamtn is the best hands down..I got nothin’ but love for upamtn…and we see eye to eye on everything other than Herm Edwards.

Welcome sea of red…another new fav…and we even have Craig in Calgary…frickin’ Canadian Chiefs fan even…aye?

Who said we're friends, asshole?

Heh.

Yeah, we started with some misunderstanding. All on your part, of course.

I like the way you argue with yourself, sometimes. A bit over-the-top, at times, but the wise man questions himself constantly, and you’re open to opposing views (even within yourSELF). That’s what makes you a natura APer.

It's a combination of things

To say AP is what it is by pointing to just one thing is impossible there are too many things to point to as to why this site is as good as it is.

The editors and moderators – Every SB site has them but not all sites are run as well as AP is. We have rules and guidelines to help everyone from the beginner to the most experienced blogger not with just whats allowable, but even where to make different type of post. They are pretty even handed as well which to me is a huge thing, a lot of sites like this allow some to say anything they want while others get banned for the smallest infraction. Warnings are issued and flags are used but it’s not just newbies that get warned, everyone from old to new is held to the rules without exception, and that keeps the trolls and others that just want to cause trouble away.

Chiefs Fans – We the fans have an over whelming desire for news about our team, and when we find something that is not already posted we post it for all to see. This sharing of information may sound like a free for all, but once again that’s where the Editors and Mods come in. All we have to do is to create a fanshot with a link and if they think it is good enough they will flesh it out to make it a fan post or even a headline. We are also very supportive of each other not matter where we are and whats happening we support each other and the site, to be honest to be a part of AP is as close any of us will ever come to being a part of the Chiefs and that’s really everyone’s secret dream.

The News – We want to know everything the moment it happens when it comes to our Chiefs and we are lucky enough to have people constantly on watch looking for any news. Even rumors are posted but as just as they are rumors, there is not the misleading stories without some questions. For example if you’ve been keeping up with the LJ situation, Because of AP we have come together not only to report where he might go but tracking down things to see if what we are hearing is correct or just smoke being blown up our butts by his agent.

Overall AP is what it is because of all of us, we all play our parts. While Some are very adapt at creating stories and post that we all reply to while others of us just reply it takes all kinds to make a site like this work and as far as I know there is no site that works like AP does. Before AP I had never blogged before, mainly because I could not think of anything I wanted to share with the world that anyone would want to read. AP took my Blog Cherry and beat it into submission, not a day goes by without my overwhelming desire to say something on AP. Do we all agree with each other… Oh Hell No, but for the most part we respect each other and we try to get along. If I don’t like something most times I will not even bother to reply to it but I will read it because some APer put the time and effort into making it, and they deserve the respect of at least a read. I may not agree with it but I’m not going to bash it either because that’s just a way to start a flame war that no one wants. I love AP and I’ll be here for as long as it exist or until I feel no longer wanted, but there’s been no signs of that so Rock on AP.

is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

I’m a Chiefs fan Dammit and I’m damn proud of it!

I think...

Its a number of things that make AP work….

1. Chiefs fans…..it all starts with being a fan.

2. The best brother tandem in all of the SBNation Land….Chris and Joel sacrifice their daily lives to AP…we have to give them credit for this whole thing. They bring fanshots to our attention or Fanpost to the front page….always giving credit to who put in the work.

3. User friendly…..SBNation has created a sports universe for any and all computer users. Easy as 1-2-3 to navigate and read whatever you want.

4. Characters….we have all kinds of them here. Funny guys – Kray…..Serious guys – UC….Fun loving guys – Steve….and overall just really cool people who love the Chiefs and treat each other like brothers. (for the most part)

5. All the sweet things add up to one addictive place to come to every day!

which, in the above example, gives you

I keep coming back because...

I have no one else around to talk Chiefs with except all of you amazingly wonderful people! I have no support here at home for my team…..except from my 8yr old…..my 10yr old has gravitated toward the Saints the last 2 yrs……..can’t knock him for that.

You guys crack me up daily & for that I am most grateful. This site keeps up with all the latest & greatest of our team. I really find it impossible to find some news about the Chiefs that hasn’t been posted here first…..that’s stupendous I tell ya.

I originally found this site when I was planning my first trip to Arrowhead earlier this summer & haven’t left since. So really, you’re all stuck with me now……….

Rec'd for (wife's asleep)

I'll take that bet, you're gonna regret, cause Haley's the best that's ever been...

Predicted outcome for the Raidaaa's goes a little something like this:

UCrawford bowed his head because he knew JaMarcus had been beat.
He laid that golden sig line on his profile at Lucas's feet.
Haley said: "UCrawford just come on back if you ever want to try again.
"I told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best that's ever been."
