Kansas City Needs Another back/ Keys to this weeks game
There are still some good Running Backs and I was thinking about last year vursus Tampa Bay. That we had Kolby and Charles as are backs remember what happened Jamal hurt his ankle and Kolby tore his knee and missed like 6 months of time. So thats why I think we need a free agent back to help out the stress that they will be under.
Free Agent Backs
1 Deuce McAllister 6-1 232 Big strong back with allot of power has the most Touchdowns in Saints history and would be great in goal line situations. And because we have guys like Kolby and Jamal who would be less effective in goal line situations.
2 Warrick Dunn 5-9 180 a good vertern is nothing more then a upgraded version of Kolby Smith and if I am right he had 500+ rushing yards in a backup role in Tampa Bay. And would be a good veteran presence.
3 Edgerrin James is a Big back who worked with Todd Haley in Arizona but I think he's really slowing down becuase of his age and lack of speed I kinda of doubt that anyone will sign him so I think he will retire.
4 Dominic Rhodes 5-9 203 I loved him in the Hall of Fame game and I love his ability to get threw open blocks and pick up five to ten yards I think the only reason Buffalo cut him was because of Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson there primary backs.
To Sign one of these backs I say we sign Terrance Copper and Jarvis Williams and Dantrell Savage then sign him to the Practice Squad. And then theres a spot one the roster for one of the backs I listed.
Keys To The Game
At Oakland this week I think we need to come out passing, running play actions and quick passes like slants and then if this works starting running shot gun Draws outside into Greg Ellis, who wont be able to Catch speedy Charles.
On Defense we need start changing are rotating linebackers and start blitzing on first down and second down then on 3rd down play allot deep coverage because of Tom Cable who loves to go vertical passes down field with Russel's big arm and if you put allot of pressure on Russell he cracks like an egg and will most likely throw a pick six to Brandon Flowers.
Even Raiders fans think Russell is terrible lol.

meh...
none of those guys impress me much at this point.
I say run with Charles, Savage, Kolby…
IF they get hurt, Williams could get called up from the PS

+1 Williams is a very powerful back
And I would like to see him get a shot in the near future.

yep.
I think the fans are generally pretty short-sighted when it comes to roster moves…
it’s easy to say the Chiefs had a “bad draft” because only Jackson and Succop are starting…
one might assume the others were “busts”…
but, chances are, the Chiefs have them in the plans for the team, and knew that it might take a little more time for some of them than others.
Maybe I’m wrong, but I see Lawrence, Brown, Williams, Magee, Washington ALL potentially factoring into the 2010 Chiefs.

Dude....
We have 3 pretty average backs that are going to be running in a committee. I would much rather have that then paying some over the hill RB top free agent money. Much rather have that go to an offensive lineman

We just got rid of a over the hill back and now you want to bring in another, I guess it does go right along with your other post about Brokie should be our starter.

First off, you forgot to recommend your own post
Secondly, none of those RBs are improvements over Charles, Kolby, or Savage. When Michael Turner or Adrian Peterson is available, let me know!

rec'd and agreed
royalsfan – we just dumped an over-the-hill RB, we don’t need to bring in another one … and I have no idea what you mean about signing Savage, since he’s already signed and listed as #2 on the depth chart
no to all those you listed …
as for “keys to the game” it’s simple, really simple: we score more than they score and we win

I like what Jamaal Charles Brings to the table
I really hope he can get double digit carries this game because the last time he did he broke the 100 yard mark. Of course, my feelings towards Jamaal’s workload could be because I picked him up on my fantasy team last week

to stag...
I liked your comment. I agree. It gives me hope actually. Something I don’t have a lot of these days for our Chiefs. It would be great to see over the next couple years, that Pioli’s drafting genius is supreme. WOuldn’t it be exciting if those guys developed into powerhouse players for us?
Then, when we draft this next off season and trade and FA, we could build a legit team built for contention.

You're kidding right? Tell me you're joking
Havent’ we already learned that a 30 year old RB that has not produced in 1.5 seasons is not going to magically return to form behind the KC OL?
Put some young legs in there and let em try to make the plays with speed, the POP that only exists in youth, and shiftyness.
We don’t need anymore old guys that have lost their pop, power, and speed at the RB position.
