The waiver deadline has passed.
We should know within a hour or two whether Larry Johnson was claimed or becomes a free agent.
Update: LJ goes unclaimed.

An hour or 2??
I have been sitting here anxiously awaiting the deadline all day. Agghh. Now I feel like I should do something productive.

yeah no joke
i don’t care where… just let it happen

Yeah
3:00 PM is the official deadline to get them into the NFL. I imagine it would get leaked if a team claimed him. Just my hunch though.

This is quite funny
Screw the article, read the comments, several people seriously suggesting the Raiders pick LJ up and start him at QB.

Oh please let him start this weekend.
That being said as far as “Stomach punch” losses go, how high would it be to lose to the Raiders with LJ as their starting QB?

That would be something
since he can’t block or catch…there’s a good chance he can throw better than Jamarcus Russell, though.

Come on St. Louis
is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

I'm pulling for Cleveland
If he didn’t like Haley, let’s see how he does for Mangini.
I’m hoping it’s not Houston. If he and Pollard were both starting for the same playoff caliber team and having success we’ll never hear the end of it on AP.

He has always maintained that he likes Haley
never said otherwise
Predictions for 2009:
The Chiefs will regret cutting LJ
Bowe's numbers regress due to lack of decent QB play.
The D gets better in the second half but still is plagued by big plays
Cassel looks more like the guy Pioli almost cut in the '08 preseason instead of the franchise QB he hoped he would be when he traded him for
Chiefs 3-13

I just dont see anyone picking up LJ with his contract
too big of a risk and he would have to learn a whole new system which would take another 2 weeks to get him up to speed on.
by Ren on Nov 10, 2009 3:22 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
A whole new system?
The qb will hand you the ball, then you run to the other end. If the qb doesn’t hand you the ball you have to block the other team from reaching the qb.
Dayum, no wonder they get paid so much.

No kidding.
I managed to teach this incredible system to 5 year olds this year. Sure, it took a couple of them a few times before they understood that “run toward the endzone” didn’t mean turning around and running toward our own, but eventually they all got it. Being that LJ is a professional, I think his learning curve on this intense complexity should be a little less steep.

I tend to agree...
He would be pretty expensive…for no better than he’s been playing.
Strange sh*t happens sometimes, though. So it’s hard to tell.
I’m pulling for Tampa Bay, myself.

Maybe The Lions
Maybe the Lions have a shot all though the O line isn t worth a crap but the Runing game is sad and K smooth don t have it maybe a one two punch can get some rushing yards in Detroit

I need clarification.
If he goes into free agency (meaning no one claimed him off waivers) does he and his agent get to put a price on his services?
by BCRavenJHawkfan on Nov 10, 2009 3:44 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
he is free to negotiate anything someone would be willing to pay him plus we still owe him 2.1 mil

He still gets paid from the Chiefs the remainder of this years salary whether he signs with another team or not
IF he signs elsewhere, they can pay him league minimum and the Chiefs have to eat the difference…

I think LJ passes through waiver wire
and team picks him up before the end of the week. If that DOESN’T happen, I think he’s picked up by a team with no less than 4 weeks left in the season.

Don’t need a link. Heard it with my own two ears, then I put the dvr on rewind to make sure I heard him right. You will see here in a few minutes he passed through waivers!

That would be nice...
The point is I can say I saw big foot this weekend at the lake, but that doesn’t make it true.
Was simply asking for a relevant link on the internet to a source of some sort.
