Morning. Not a lot of articles today.

When a coach is 0-4 in his rookie season, he’s methods are going to be placed under a microscope, analyzed and dissected. His decisions are going to be second guessed to death. His words are going to be parsed for value and intent.

Haley understands that, and he’s stood up on occasion and admitted mistakes. He’s done that with his players. He’s even done that with the media. Like any rookie player, every day is a learning experience for the rookie head coach.

KC Star Video: The Chiefs are 0 and 0.

On one hand, Charles, who returns kickoffs and plays as the third-down back, is one of the Chiefs’ most talented players. He is one of the few Chiefs capable of making big plays and one of the fastest players on an otherwise slow team.

On the other hand, Charles has been an unreliable player whose fumble on the opening kickoff Sunday put the Chiefs in an immediate hole against the undefeated New York Giants. He delivered some big plays as a rookie last year, but a precious few this season.

ANALYSIS OF MATT CASSEL’S PERFORMANCE ON SUNDAY

"Not good enough to win. He has to be better. Was Matt Cassel the reason we lost? No, it was a group effort. I think the kid is a tough, competitive guy, who fought it out yesterday.

"We had some dropped balls on some better throws than others. It’s an across the board thing. The offense needs to start working together as a team, and looking out for each other more. That’s what good teams and good units do. We need to make those plays, period. Whether it’s a better throw or catch, we have to make them. There were plays available to us in yesterday’s game that would have greatly affected the outcome that we did not make. "

From the Mouth Of Todd 10/5 from Bob Gretz

Over at Arrowhead Stadium, renovation work is 70 percent complete, using $250 million in public funds.

The team’s improvement project is nowhere near as far along, however. The Chiefs are 0-4, and we’re not just talking losses, but annihilations. The team has scored only 64 points while giving up 112.

We understand injuries to key players, errant draft picks, rebuilding years and the myriad other reasons behind a bad season.

But Kansas City’s teams are stuck in deep ruts. Chiefs fans, for instance, had hoped last year’s 2-14 record was the bottom. Unbelievably, that might not be the case.

Hey, sports fans: Jackson County taxpayers are the real losers from KC Star

Media and Fans

ChiefsPR #Chiefs will sport '62 Dallas Texans unis and #Cowboys will wear classic gear. . . And there will be vertically-striped socks in Denver.

kb_kcstar Man, that Jared Allen guy is all right. If only the Chiefs could somehow find a guy like that, I'll bet they'd never let him go.

torreymcgraw: Is D. Ware taking notes? Pure Clinic! RT @bobanddan: Jared Allen: Proof the Chiefs have no clue. Also, see: Gonzalez, Tony.

jfhodges111: More salt to the wounds of Chiefs fans. Jared Allen is a trend topic.

PittsJay: Can he play three positions on the O-Line? RT @mikeransdell The Chiefs wouldn't be winless if Jared Allen was still in KC.

ViewFromVegas: ...the only home teams to not cover were the Chiefs and Redskins (Indians-rights group could have a field day with that!!!).

NateVaughn: remembers when the Chiefs used to win games.....I think i still had 6 baby teeth.

ufc4: The Chiefs traded Jared Allen for a #1 pick they used on Brandon Albert who averages approx. 39 penalty yards a game.

This next one's so true.

Swagger_Trav: Yo penn station got more bums than the Kansas City Chiefs. Lmao!

Wow...

We’re this years Lions. Just punchlines for people’s jokes. They don’t even need to have a setup…just say “KC Chiefs”. Sad…can’t wait to start winning again.

Penn State to Kansas City...Always a winning combination.

My friend who's an Eagle's fan

was surprised how solid we looked all around. I mean, you can tell that the Eagles were better, but that coach and QB have been together forever.

We have a rookie HC who is taking on too much responsibility. He came in late in the game, and didn’t have time to implement all he wanted to. Then he fired his OC very late, and started putting in his playbook late. Then our starting QB got injured, and he has absolutely no chemistry with his WR group. This is all leading to disaster, and I feel that we will be much improved next year. We just have to stop digging ourselves into holes.

Well ...

It’s hard to see the sarcastic font when you’re hearing the words rather than reading them.

"The Chiefs are 0 and 0."
The Chiefs are 0 and 0.

Do the two 0’s indicate a bullseye on the front and back of the Chiefs jerseys for opponents?

Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."

"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.
