Clark Hunt and the Chiefs
There have been posts about anything and everything concerning the Chiefs. We have fans for and against everything the Chiefs have did in the last few years. We have either liked or disliked Scott Pioli, Todd Haley, the asst coaches, the new defense and list goes on and on. I wont go into every topic that has been discussed in the last few years but there will always be people that look at each situation differently.
Nobody can argue what Lamar Hunt has did for the NFL and the Chiefs. I don't know if he didn't trust Clark Hunt at the time or he just thought Carl Peterson was what was best for the Chiefs at the time, but Lamar gave Carl to much power to a man that had no vested interest in the Chiefs besides getting a paycheck. Don't get me wrong Carl did a great job getting fans back in the seats and putting a product on the field that was worth watching, but he out stayed his welcome.
When Clark Hunt first took over for the team he didn't just come in and change everything he let the things his father had put in place continue to do their job, while he was watching and learning. Then when he was ready it was time to make this his team.
The point of my post is the Chiefs are in good hands. Clark will not let someone get too much power again and as he has said in interviews Pioli talks with him about the decisions about this team. He hired the person he thought was best for the team but make no mistake, and he has proven that if he doesn't like they way things are going he isn't afraid to make big moves. You may or may not like they way Pioli is handling things right now, but at least we can all be sure that Clark is keeping an eye on him and if he doesn't see this team going in the direction he wants he will make moves to correct it.
Here is to the Chiefs heading in the right direction to bring another championship to Kansas city.

well said, but ... just remember this: Pioli, just like Old King Carl ...
has no vested interest in the team beyond his paycheck
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
But like I said Lamar gave Carl all the power, Clark isn't doing that.
Chiefs set an NFL record, most roster changes in 1 season.

and... his reputation
I think Pioli has a huge amount to prove that he can run a team himself, and that he’s not Bill B’s sidekick.
I firmly believe that Pioli and Hunt are THE right guys to run this organization.
I also believe in Haley, though I think he has a long way to go yet.
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
Clark and Pioli are okay with me but, I don't like this coaching staff...at all.
seriously, none of them.
I would like it if they would hire Crennel
And get a damn QB"s coach

I agree for sure...
I like Haley, but I think he needs to delegate…
And hopefully Romeo will be willing after this season.

Just posted elsewhere...
Was Haley brought in as a can’t loose hire for one year? He cleans house, as Pioli evaluates talent. If he does well, great. If he doesn’t ,we go for …Bill Cowher, next year.
I think Lamar did some amazing things
but I think once the Chiefs won the Superbowl in 70 he lost his interest in the team, especially once Arrowhead was built. He had proved himself to his detractors and moved on to his many other interests. I think his only real football interest after that was more on the league than the team. That’s the reason that KC spent all those 15 years playoff free. Nothing happened again until a fan revolt, much of it aimed at Lamar and questioning whether he was trying to get the team to fail so he could move it. Then he got involved and hired Carl. Once Carl restored the fanbase I think Lamar lost interest again.
Clark is now the young owner with something to prove. I think he’ll be much more involved than Lamar. I don’t expect to see him lose interest any time soon. I don’t think we’ll see another Carl Peterson under his watch. Not until after we win a couple of Superbowls at least.
