that'd be a NICE haul
might not be possible, but getting a new S, LT, NT, and WR in the first 3 rounds… that’d be very good….
as long as they got a C in round 4
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

my dream scenario...
Berry, S
Cody, NT
Gilyard, WR
O’Dowd, C
Lupati, G

Not sure about the order...
but the players would be outstanding. Maybe Iupati with out 2b and Gilyard in the 4th.

yeah...
I wouldn’t care what order they came in, if the Chiefs got em all…
I could even get behind a plan to get those other guys, and wait on Estes, or another C in the 4th

Let me get this straight
Arguably the greatest college player of all time is currently the 91st best player in College right now?
Hmmm.

seems right
everyone thinks his style wont transition to the NFL
by cassel4prez on Oct 29, 2009 5:18 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
It won't
He is a great college player, but he is a square peg in a round hole in the NFL.
by ChiefDJ on Oct 29, 2009 5:19 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
A couple things
1) The post is called Top 100 College players…it says nothing about NFL worthiness
2) I don’t buy that he isn’t a NFL caliber QB. What does that even mean? There is so many types of QB’s in the NFL, I refuse to believe he couldn’t be a tougher Steve Young.

Its a scouting sight
It is ABOUT scouting college players for the NFL. Not just an arbitrary “whose best” list.
Teebow has great leadership skills and loves the game. I appreciate that about him.
But can you honestly say you can see him throwing 30 or 40 passes a game against NFL secondaries and being succesful? I just don’t see it happening. He has a long throwing motion, horrible footwork in dropping back and totally locks on to his receivers. He can get away with that in college where the defenders are expecting him to run first and are surprised when he passes and the competition isn’t that great, but I think he will get eaten alive in the NFL.
I’m not a Tebow hater, I love him as a college player. I just think that is his niche and that he wouldn’t fit in the NFL at all.

plus he relies way too much on his run, that will get shut down pretty quick in the NFL

My idea of the perfect Chiefs draft
1 – Eric Berry, S
2a – Mike Iupati, G
2b – Jerry Hughes or Eric Norwood, OLB
3 – Kris O’Dowd, C
4 – Myron Lewis, CB/FS
5a – MIcah Johnson, ILB
5b – Vladimir Ducasse, G
5c – Brandon Banks, KR/PR

Need a few "edge" players
The team needs a rb & a wr that can stretch the D!
Here’s my idea of a realistic draft, assuming that KC can swing a couple of trade-downs and that Suh & Berry aren’t available…
1 Trade Down for 2nd and 4th
1 Everson Griffen 6-3 265 DE/OLB Jr USC 4.64
2 Jason Worilds 6-2 262 OLB Jr Virginia Tech
2 Trade Down for 3rd and 6th
2 Kris O’Dowd 6-5 298 C Jr USC
3 Jacoby Ford 5-10 188 WR Sr Clemson 4.37
3 Akwasi Owusu-Ansah 6-1 205 CB/FS Sr Indiana (Pa.) 4.48
4 Myron Rolle 6-2 218 SS Sr Florida State 4.52
4 Phil Taylor 6-4 355 DT/NT Jr Baylor
5 Michael Pouncey 6-5 312 OG Jr Florida 5.38
5 Chris Scott 6-5 346 OT Sr Tennessee 5.36
5 Jaiquawn Jarrett 6-2 195 FS Jr Temple
6 Ben Tate 5-11 215 RB Sr Auburn 4.5
7 David Gettis 6-4 215 WR Sr Baylor 4.47 (trade next years 7)

Rhodes Scholar
and needs to go this year if he’s going.

I'd be all for additional picks if Berry is gone
I like Jacoby Ford too, but I’m hoping Lance Long works out. They are very similar in size and speed, both are slot receivers.
I haven’t seen Phil Taylor play yet, but have read about him. His Coach was raving about him in preseason Big 12 meeting. I hope he declares if for no other reason than giving 3-4 teams additional prospects for the NT position.
I like Chris Scott too. Where would you see him playing?
by chrisclark_dfw on Oct 29, 2009 5:12 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
He’s versatile, 1st preference would be R OT, but he can also play either guard position. Trade downs will be difficult, because I think the value chart for the 2010 draft skews pretty heavily to 3-5th round. Supposedly the CBA expiration is going to lead to a bunch of Sophomores declaring and I would think that would apply to the Junior class too. Phil Taylor just made Wes Bunting’s top 30 and while I doubt that he’d go 1st round, he may decide that is where he’ll go in 2011, we’ll see.

Yeah...
I saw NationalFootball Post saying more redshirt sophs will declare this year. It’ll be interesting in early January to see who actually declares.

I'm a lot more excited about this draft than last year's
But my ability to guess the Chief’s pix was pretty poor, I had Tyson and UFA LB Walters, 7th rounder O’Connell, but that was it.

I have a feeling we'll all be initially disappointed with the draft
Pioli seems to have a history of taking unorthodox/non-flashy picks. I guess it’s ok as long as it works out in the end,
