Underrated Draft Prospects/ Late Round Gems
Keep in mind I never put down Underclassman.
Kyle McCarthy SS Notre Dame 6-0 210/ good tackler could take 2-3 years to turn into a starter but who knows he has deviating hits and good coverage.
Brian Jackson CB Oklahoma 6-1 200 pounds tall physical corner with good hands good recognition and skill set.
3 Javarris James Miami 6-0 215 pounds he's pretty much the late round Larry Johnson but without the wining good trucker and steamroller like LJ used to be when he was younger and Javarris has some good lateral quickness.
4 Chris Hall Texas 6-4 300 pounds great strength needs work on his footwork and movement but is a all round talented kid who could be great in the NFL.
5 Dan Williams Tennessee 6-3 327 pounds 48 tackles in 08 season needs work in allot of areas but could be a solid guy behind Ron Edwards and Kenny Smith or who ever is Number 2 Nose Tackle.

Chris Hall is the man!

Kerry Meier
Seems like a Pioli guy. Smart, althetic, can catch anything you throw near him. He doesn’t have the greatest speed but he has to have some of the best hands in the NCAA. Even more impressive, he practices with the QBs all week — not with the receivers. He has good bloodlines, his brother Shad played TE in the NFL.
He was an All-State kicker in high school and is a great punter and kicker as well. Oh ya, he was recruited as a QB and started for KU until some guy named Todd Reesing came along.
Suffice to say, I love this kid and I want him to be a Chief. He won’t be a #1 receiver, but he can be a solid #3 possession guy. He has better hands than anyone else on the current Chiefs roster.

Agreed. He is a Pioli guy
But he’s practicing with the WR’s this year a vast majority of the time. He still takes a few snaps at QB in the case of an emergency, but Kale Pick is the #2 QB.
Oh, another thing about Meier – He’s lined up at tight end on a few occasions this season as well. More than likely, this is the position he’ll have to transition to in the NFL – he’s such a smart player, but he’s just not quick enough to be a WR in the league.

I agree on meier
Being a KSU guy i hate to admit but he belongs a Chief. Great SEK kid and sports family.
Also, going local Fitzgerald at KSU a transfer from Virginia has been very solid and would be great value in rounds 3 to 5. Good motor and can get after the pass rusher. Was a frosh all american at Virginia (who plays a 3-4 with Al Groh)
probably a DE/OLB type but worth a look.
Another couple guys i like is trindan holliday at LSU. Will be the fastest player at the combine (although very short) but would add much needed speed to the return game.
also anthony dixon at Miss State. HUGE back that has done well with little talent around him.
finally, if we don’t select Eric Berry (the next ed reed) i hope we take a shot at Myron Rolle after his rhodes scholar is over he is very smart and athletic and productive in college.

I would love to get Meier....
….at worst he would be a ST stud.
I think Trindon Holliday is a decent player but I think their other RB, Charles Scott, would be a steal in a late round pickup….. Well I guess I haven’t seen where he is projected to go so a late rounder may be way undervaluing his stock, I don’t know.
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Jackson is on my, list 6th round
Can play press coverage.
My 7th is David Gettis WR out of Baylor, 6-4 sub 4.5 40, big enough and fast enough to be a deep threat.
Rolle will go in 4th and he’s on my list too. Assuming we don’t pick up Berry, we’ll want to look at Owusu-Ansah FS out of Indiana PA and Jarrett out of Temple in addition to Rolle.
