Chiefs Sign a Familiar Name to the Practice Squad
The Kansas City Chiefs have re-signed Ricky Price to their practice squad according to Adam Caplan of Scout. A 6'1", 195 pound safety out of Oklahoma State, Price went undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft
Price originally signed with the Chiefs on May 8th of this year after going undrafted in April's draft. He went to the club's rookie mini-camp and participated in offseason workouts.
I always figured him a long shot to make the team not necessarily because of his play but because Jon McGraw and Jarrad Page were ahead of him on the depth chart at the time.
He spent all of training camp with the Chiefs and was released on the evening of September 5th, which was the final cutdown day prior to the season.
With Jon McGraw and Jarrad Page having been banged up the past few weeks, it's possible this is a precautionary move. That's just a guess, though.
That fills the Chiefs practice squad after OT Chris Patrick was nabbed by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this week.

cool
welcome back, Ricky
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

Another name
that could be a factor next year. I like the potential of all our “minor league” guys.

Go Ricky!
I was at River Falls, but I don’t remember anything specific about him——but he must have looked fairly good to get a second look now.
