FYI...A website, Real GM, says the Chiefs will release Larry Johnson. This has NOT been verified by any other outlets and sounds a little pre-mature, which is why we're not posting on it.

Whitlock NEEDS a lap band.
Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

Yeah, there's a reason I didn't fanshot that shit
and it’s because something about that article just gives me the gut feeling that it’s just total conjecture. Shame because I really wish it were true.

All right. My apologies for jumping the gun.
I’m just really antsy to get the jerk out of here!

Oh, no it's cool
We just had someone ask why we’re not putting it on the front page. This report seems a little pre-mature and something like this generally isn’t broken by a lesser known blog….it’s by Chris Mortensen and Jay Glazer.

Good journalism
Nice job Joel, waiting for conformation before giving a report…I like this. We don’t want another “Terry Bradshaw is Dead” fiasco (see Mike Florio) or “Shanahan to Chiefs” (see Mortenson).
Unlike the aforementioned, however, this scenario seems quite plausible.

Confirmation*
Sorry, I do a lot of chemistry.

I lol'd at "conformation" - "confirmation"
p.s. I’m not a huge fan of Mort. Glazer is solid though imo.

...but...
…you just posted on it, Joel. =)
I think it’s generally taken as until one of the reliables posts something, he’s still here.

Well, the last thing I want to do is ruin the credibility of AP.
Now I know RealGM should not be used as a reliable source.
But I really do hope this story is true.

I hope and think it will be true
I just think the only people in the know right now are the actual decision makers (like Pioli, Haley and Hunt).

id prefer a suspension
but i wont lose sleep if we cut him. Don’t care if he has success somewhere else either.
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?

I'd like to see nothing more than a Chiefs roster WITHOUT LJ's name on it
and I think there’s a good chance that’s in the very near future. There’s just no hard evidence to prove that yet, it’s still just my gut feeling.

Off-Topic
If Jared Allen would have made the comments LJ did, would we have just laughed it off or be calling for his head?
Not to defend LJ, but just food for thought.
The fans have had it out for LJ from the beginning, mostly because he didn’t want to be here, and because Priest was so lovable. Looking back at some of his tweets, it doesn’t sound like he meant to say anything hateful, he was just talking smack with a few naysayers, maybe trying to lighten the mood after a bad loss.
His response to the media the next day is really what I think gets LJ cut though. No excuse for that. Again, I don’t think LJ is a bad person, just stupid.

I think the fanbase actually loved and treated LJ like family
for years, right up until he made the comments he did at the end of last season. Prior to that, most of his indiscretions were quickly lost in the list of his accomplishments on the field for the majority of KC’s fans. After that moment though, it all suddenly became real to KC and LJ was a dead man walking. With the regime change, and some very well-chosen words from his agent, LJ backpedalled hard until he was standing on slightly less unstable footing. The bridge was still falling apart but it existed nonetheless. His actions Sunday/Monday, however, were the last straw for damn near every member of the Chiefs Kingdom and the bridge went up in flames.
Get LJ the fuck out of Kansas City and out of the red and gold before he becomes the franchise’s all-time leading rusher; he doesn’t deserve the honor.

So you think good people treat girls like he does?
Chiefs set an NFL record, most roster changes in 1 season.

Simply put
L.J’s play in no way warrants leniency towards the situation. Allen’s does. Not saying Allen is a better person, just a better player, and being real, the better you are, the more you get away with (Williams wall, Ray Lewis, Shawn Merriman, etc.)
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.

That is setting a bad precedent.
You can’t allow talent to dictate what a player can or can’t get away with. For a coach, GM or Commisioner to have credability they need to have one standard across the board. How can you expect to receive respect from the players when they know that some are basically given a blank check to misbehave due to being extremely talented? IMO that’s why there are so many problems in the NFL as a whole right now. If all the really talented players were on as short a leash as the rest of the league, there would be fewer cases of individuals doing stupid things and giving the NFL bad press.

Agreed
but that’s not the way it works, b/c we knows if Peyton Manning or Tom Brady were to screw up Roger and CO, would try to sweep it under the rug to save the Shield’s image.
When deep space exploration ramps up, it'll be the corporations that name everything, the IBM Stellar Sphere, the Microsoft Galaxy, Planet Starbucks.
I'd be fine with 9-7 or 10-6 and competiting for the divsion title

The difference between LJ and Jared Allen ...
… is that Jared Allen figured out that he’d screwed up after his first suspension. He changed his ways. He grew up (a little).
LJ hasn’t.

He had repeat offenses as well
He had two DUIs, I think.

He said that would be the case after the season....
I believe he predicted a suspension only as punishment for this…

Larry may end up getting what he wants
This behavior may be calculated and he may get his reelase which is what he wants. Someone will at least take a look at him and he will spread his love on to them good riddance. Tough season, not sure about Haley but let’s see how this plays out.

He isn't that smart....
He was who we thought he was. Before the arbitration hearing ruled his conduct violations voided his contract i.e. guaranteed money, most of us wanted him traded, or out right released, myself included. I was pleasantly surprised he was so prominent in OTAs and one of few to be complimented by Haley. There was always a sense of “wait and see” though, has he really changed or was he motivated by his contract. Sunday night he gave us that answer. He was playing nice for money. Even if he gets another chance somewhere, he will never get the payday he was enjoying here.

I think this RealGM is just speculating.
They are a no-name football news site. If they write this and it comes true they were the first to break the story and maybe get some press for it. If they write it and it doesn’t happen, in a couple of weeks no one cares or remembers. They probably see it as a risk worth gambling on.
