The Chiefs' defense began the season as a three-four. When it started the second half of the season after a bye week, it had become a four-three. That made the front stronger, although it changed the role of Derrick Thomas, the Chiefs' best player.

From 1992. I'm checking out old articles on the bye week and thought this one was interesting.

No worries, I made the same mistake
And..
Turned Hali into a LB…cut Boone(he at least was a big body that played decent, in a 4-3 of course)….Should’ve kept Gun to run the 4-3 instead of Clancy Penderpassive(Lions at least play hard on defense EVERY play)….and could’ve gone OL instead of making a reach for our “hybrid” scheme….and…and…sorry gotta breathe…>:0
You realize this article is from 1992 right?

Is it just me..
Or does anyone else think we really became a prime example of why teams should hire coaches NOT based on a last handful of game?
I believe Haley was on their list before the Cardinals made their run
The fact that they made a run to the Super Bowl just helped.
