Chiefs Down by 20 as the Third Quarter Winds Down
The excitement I felt after Dwayne Bowe's TD catch is pretty much gone at this point. The Chiefs are down 27 to 7.
It's a rainy afternoon at Arrowhead. Matt Cassel knows this - he just threw his first interception in 152 pass attempts after TE Sean Ryan bobbled the ball away to the Chargers defense.
Full stats are here.

Ok guys! Only down by 20.
Let’s do this. All we need is for our receivers to stop dropping passes and our defense to start stopping the other team.

I can't wait for the draft.
We need OL help in the later rounds. We need a new safey (I’m all for taking Berry now). We need a TE (one who can block and/or catch). We need linebackers. Does that cover it?

we haven't played to our strengths at all this year
and honestly, we’d be better off with Croyle the way Cassel has played lately. His accuracy is terrible. Yeah, he went like 150 passes without an interception, but how many of them were even caught by our own team?
I wish this team would play in the 1st half of games
always seems like it takes them 2-3 qtrs to start playing football
Last 2 years we couldnt play in the 2nd half
now we cant play in the first half—the second half was better by far but still nothing to go shouting about
It still hasn't set in
that Barry Richardson is our left tackle.

Down the field offense
I can see from the play calling after the half that Haley wanted to take more shots down the field. Judging from the results, I now believe Haley has been reluctant to do this because of Cassel’s accuracy in long throws.
The good sign is, Haley is getting more agressive seeking big plays, the bad news is, we may have the receivers but no quarterback accurate enough to connect. Maybe next year.
We will once again be amongst the NFL's elite!!!

I could be wrong but the Chiefs are the worst team in football.
The reason is because they are paying their QB a fortune and he sucks.

Again, we really aren’t paying a fortune for our QB. If we had taken a QB with our #3 or #5 the last two years, we’d be paying the 40 mil guaranteed.
What we’re paying LJ is more likely the problem than anything having to do with Cassel. To suggest the amount of money a QB is making has anything to do with our defense giving up nearly 500 yards, our special teams falling flat or the offensive line letting people right through every other play — its just ignorant.

Dear Deities,
I believe you may have erred during today’s SD v. KC game. The CHARGERS were the team set for complete implosion, not the CHIEFS.
I understand you are very busy dispensing righteous football glory upon the deserved, but I feel you have confused the teams who deserve smiting. The “CH” in both team’s names may have contributed to this oversight.

He's always gun shy!
He short-arms everything. He plays like he’s scared to fire the ball in there. Never gonna be anybodys QBOTF playin like that.
He's cautious because he's trying not to throw the INT
That’s a lot different from being gun shy. The guy is tough and unafraid of taking a hit. I give the guy a lot of respect for that. There have been a lot of KC QBs that didn’t do that.
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read. - Groucho Marx
My Chiefs- colored glasses are just as red as anyones
but watching todays game was hard. Our QB needs to give us a chance to win, not throw 3 int in 5 attempts. I want him to be good just as bad as you but it’s hard to see positives out of him today.—maybe a second watching would change that.
Hey - he did have a bad day, especially in that run
but that’s not a reason to toss the guy under the bus. EVERY QB has bad days. I’m honestly surprised this is his first this year.

Seems we've been playing OL shuffle.. Not a problem with trying, but..
so far the results aren’t exactly spectacular (sp?)..
The fact that
23 players are gone from this team that were on it last year and only 2 or 3 of them have found their way onto other teams is pretty damning. The talent level of this team the last 2 years has been abysmal and its going to take more than 1 year to patch all the holes.

Exactly
You can put both mannings in there, they’d BOTH suck

Yeah?
How much time did he have… Go back and count the seconds.

Cassel is holding the ball too long at times
I like the guy, but he did have a bad day. And he does seem to hold the ball too long. I’d like to see some stats for his time from snap to throw.

I agree with you
I don’t get why everyone is defending Cassel. He hasn’t done anything for us.
Another former Chief just made a great play for another team.

I only have one question..
why do we have to suck this bad all the time? In today’s NFL with the draft and free agency. Why do we suck this hard?

Because our scouts suck!
We have no one that can evaluate talent for todays type of game.

Starting Brody Glass-ass" Croyle would be the dumbest thing in the world
He’d already be on IR if he were playing more (see his previous college/pro history)
