Center Rudy Niswanger Carted Off; Chiefs Down 14 Early
The Kansas City Chiefs are already without starting left tackle Branden Albert with an ankle injury for the second week in a row. To combat that, the Chiefs have all offensive linemen active today.
Well, the hits keep on coming. Starting center Rudy Niswanger injured his knee on a failed fourth down conversion. He was limping heavily off of the field. Trainers tended to him for a few minutes before he was taken away to the locker room in a cart.
I've been told that it is a knee injury and he's a questionable return.
Wade Smith was replacing Albert but with the injury to Niswanger, he has slid over to center and Barry Richardson, activated from the practice squad just last week, is at left tackle.
The Chiefs have given up two passing touchdowns to the Chargers.
The Chiefs went three and out on drive number one and failed to convert on a fourth and one on drive number two.
It's getting dark out here at Arrowhead, both figuratively and literally. Storms are only a few miles away as of this posting. There's no rain yet and the storm appears to be just west of the stadium.
The Chargers were held to a three and out in their first drive before going on two consecutive scoring drives.
As of this posting, new receiver Lance Long has been the intended target on two pass attempts.

Amen to that...
And he needs to take Bill Muir’s sorry a$$ with him… That guy is part of the problem with the offensive line… I have to believe that while this isn’t the same quality line KC had during the Vermeil or even Marty Days, they have shown glimpses of competency, that this unit just isn’t very well coached…. The same goes for Pendergrast, as I watch this sorry defensive unit get torched again and again… I’m thinking Pioli will see if Romeo Crennel is interested in coaching the Chiefs D…

Many of his completions are off and when he has had time he has thrown some very bad balls.

O'Cal ran into Wade
and probably saved us that second before the 2min warning by forcing Wade to cut back outside much faster than he was gonna be able to on his own.
Wasn’t intentional but it worked

LJ may have gotten taken down in the backfield
if he was in on that play instead of Charles.

Yep.
He has low acceleration. More like a bowling ball at this point.

thats why
we should not call all those draws for LJ…he needs to build up steam…handing it off to him standing still is never good
which is also why he's so effective on sweeps.

I don't
understand why Charles doesn’t get the ball more.
I like Charles too
but he’s not playing much because he puts the ball on the ground WAY too much.

The draw play is meant for speedy guys who have absolutely no blocking.
The draw would work with LJ if he had a line to block for him.
I am pretty excited to see Kolby Smith when he comes back
Charles and Smith could be a sweet backfield if all the things about Kolby’s rehab are true.

i start charles over LJ. hes so fast he always hits the corner and turns it up for 15 yards every time. YPC is nuts

going into the locker room so this team has SOMETHING positive to build on. Plus we get the ball at the half…

I agree with Gatsby
The math was right. They easily could have scored a TD to go up by 24, which is what Wrestler was implying.
And don’t give us the 24 is 3 TD’s and 3 2 point conversions line. That is not realistic.

Sure, maybe SD can donate us 3 TDs.
It still wouldn’t affect the outcome.
so yeah
lets go for it on out own 35 on 4th down….
and not go for it on 4th down on the Chargers 30….down by 17
I wonder what's going on in Scott Pioli's mind.
I would want to fire every damn coach and let a lot of these players go. Keep Jackson, Belcher, Hali, Bowe, Wade, Bradley, Long, Albert, O’Cal, Dorsey, Cassel, and Charles. Am I missing any others?

I wonder
if Haley and Pioli are treating this season as an extended preseason. We keep bringing in new guys and sitting starters. there is no consistancy
consistency doesn't mean jack shit
if the players you’re using suck. They’ll just be consistently bad.
We NEED to be making changes until we find guys with the right skillset to help us win. Otherwise we’re just wasting everyone’s time and money.
Bask in the glory that is Kwame Harris. Poor Alex...
wow so basically this has turned into
we stink, our players stink, our coaches stink…
peace out. GL and have fun with that.
its called no talent vs one of the most talented teams in the nfl…we are OFF today…
no patience anymore….you cant go from 3 wins in 30 games, to good…not in 6 games.
analysis
Todays game analysis:
1/ cant run
2/ cant catch a pass
3/ cant kick field goals
4/ cant cover the pass
5/ cant cover the run
Hmmm….I wonder if Jackson will end up with 300 yards receiving by the end of the day…its looking that way…..good luck with the teamtalk Haley….we are making the 2-3 Chargers look like Superbowl calibre out there…Hopefully they will turn up for the second half with some fighting spirit! No Point in being negative.
We expected this, remember? Granted, I think that Pendergrast needs to be run out of town, at this point, And our O-line coach needs to have some Bryants forced down his throat until he explodes, literally, BUT…There have been some bright spots.
