I wanted Long to be on the team but i also wanted Lawrence…

Same here,

It’s frustrating that we got rid of our only speed threat besides Charles…

That guy could have been utiliazed well IMO.

If he passes through the wavier wire

That is…

Any team that claims him has to activate him for 4 games

He wasn’t good enough to start for a receiver needy team like the Chiefs. I doubt there is another team out there willing to activate him for 4 games based on what he has shown so far. He will arrive on the PS without a doubt

Only speed threat sitting on the bench does us no good

Lawrence will probably sign on the practice squad.

by ChiefDJ on Oct 24, 2009 8:09 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

That sucks...

I guess they don’t want to waste time on coaching up potential….

The Chiefs were actually good the last time Kenny Smith has played in a game. Gives you an idea of how long ago that was. lol

by Chiefsfan85 on Oct 24, 2009 8:03 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

As in Long doesn't have potential?

Or that Lawrence doesn’t belong on the PS?

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 8:04 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

lawrence has potential...

Right now you can say that Long is better tha lawrence….with time I think Lawrence can be a big threat with his pure speed, his hands are decent…just needs better awareness.

I agree.

I just don’t understand your comment. Are you saying that PS players don’t get coached up (Lawrence) or that they don’t have time to coach up Long so just activated him as is

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 8:10 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

He can still be coached on the practice squad, where I’m sure he’s headed.

by bh13 on Oct 24, 2009 8:11 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

If Long is ahead of him then he should be active

and they can “coach up his potential” on the PS. Maybe Long won’t be aftaid to go over the middle.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

Drafts might take 2-3 years to evaluate but

we might only have a few players left from this draft class still on this team after the year. Jackson, Succop, and Belchor are the only 3 that seem worth a damn. Not the draft you expected from Pioli. He didn’t have the scouts he wanted and he didn’t have much time to prepare so I’ll give him a pass this year. Succop is a beast!

by AK_47 on Oct 24, 2009 8:06 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Belcher wasn’t drafted.

I think all the draft picks will at the very least make it to camp next year. Past that, I won’t guess but I imagine there will be more than you think.

by bh13 on Oct 24, 2009 8:10 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

MAgee will still be here as well...

The entire 2009 draft was a project draft…

Lawrence will make it to the PS like everyone is echoing here. Not a big deal

by butchcassidy on Oct 24, 2009 8:11 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

moreso surprised they would expose him at all

and am a bit sad that my madden 2010 no longer has him returning kicks lol

by SDChief on Oct 24, 2009 8:13 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Forgot about Magee although he seems to be losing favor too lately

I counted Belchor as part of the class for charity. I know he was a college free agent

Btw what is a project draft? For a team that only won 2 games last year and Haley saying anything 53 off the street could have won more games you think we could have gotten some more impact players to help us

I don't want no Yo-Yos

by AK_47 on Oct 24, 2009 8:14 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I don’t really see how Magee’s losing favor. I’m pretty sure he’s on the field every time they go to the two man line nickel formation.

by bh13 on Oct 24, 2009 8:16 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah......

Seems like Magee has been more and more active as the weeks go by

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 8:17 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

From the mouth of Bob Gretz

“Just seeing Magee on the field has been a problem in the last few weeks as his playing time has dwindled. Magee started the season as one of the pass rushers in the nickel defense, but he was replaced long ago in that role. The Chiefs do very little rotation of their defensive ends, so Magee probably gets a half-dozen to 10 plays at the most per game.

In five games, he’s been involved in two tackles and one quarterback pressure."

I think its more due to the improvement of Gilberry than Dorsey. Dorsey was always in on nickel D. Gilberry replaced Magee and has done fairly well. 2 sacks so far I believe

right on

looks like he is not as active as I thought. He still seems like a good prospect though

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 10:01 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wow.....

I was wrong, way wrong evidently…really thought he was in their plans and that they liked him…either way, I actually am also a lance long fan, so it works out…

sadly lawrence joins chris hannon on my miss list of WR’s I thought had it.

by SDChief on Oct 24, 2009 8:12 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

He could still do something

I’m sure they will sign him to the practice squad the moment he clears waivers. They must either think Long’s more prepared to contribute right now or just want to give him a shot.

by bh13 on Oct 24, 2009 8:15 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Uh Oh, The sky is starting to fall again

Now come the numerous posts on how Haley/Pioli favor ex-Card players and how this is a bone headed move to “release” Lawrence

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 8:12 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

speed does you little good, when you cant run routes very well, unless your Randy Moss.

Its time to get rid if players that cant contribute! I think Long might be a good slot guy!

by GoShooterGo on Oct 24, 2009 8:15 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Can't really see this making much of a difference

Doubt this guy really sees the field this season unless we are in garbage time. Agreement with the common perception. Lawrence to the PS. Just shifting the pieces at the bottom. Interested to see if we swap TEs sometime soon. That stat about Ryan giving up the most sacks for a TE is telling.

by Clarry on Oct 24, 2009 8:19 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I think im in the same boat as everyone else.

ie…i wanted long on the team, but not at the expense of QL, whom I was also rooting for

A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?

by Bashman on Oct 24, 2009 8:35 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I hope he's active

sit Bobby “slow as dirt” Engram and get Long on the field. Give him a shot returning punts too.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

by KCporkchop on Oct 24, 2009 8:39 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

is he

fast? watching wade return punts kills me. he’s so damn slooow

by SillyHatDay on Oct 24, 2009 8:43 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

faster then Wade. I think he's more quick then pure speed.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

by KCporkchop on Oct 24, 2009 8:45 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

are u sure its "Slow as dirt" ?

I thought it was “old as dirt”

by KCCheeze on Oct 24, 2009 8:57 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

what in sam hell

do they like about copper so much?? why is haley so devoted to him? he is a complete non factor

by SillyHatDay on Oct 24, 2009 8:42 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I would disagree

It seems like Copper is always the first guy down on punts for the tackle. I believe he recovered that muffed punt against Dallas

by Fourstrike89 on Oct 24, 2009 8:44 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

He may not be worth squat as a WR but the guy has been fantastic on ST

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

by KCporkchop on Oct 24, 2009 8:44 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

i wasn't going to admit it

but i agree. only thing is, that hasn’t saved others. Battle was really good on ST and got the axe in favor of a hurt guy. I feel some bromance between haley and copper

by SillyHatDay on Oct 24, 2009 8:54 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Battle’s on IR, not cut.

by bh13 on Oct 24, 2009 8:55 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wow!

On my way home now. I’ll find out what’s up shortly.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 24, 2009 8:49 PM CDT via mobile reply actions   0 recs

wonder if he plays

against SD. i presume he practiced friday so he is eligible by haley’s standard.

by SillyHatDay on Oct 24, 2009 8:57 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

That would be great

I will be at the game tomorrow so I would like to seem him on the field. I am kinda a Lance Long fan
