Someone related a story of Tim Grunard asking what Todd would think of DT or Willie Roaf who couldn't/ didn't practice but were the best players nonetheless?

It's really not a good comparison

Does anyone really think DJ has Derrick Thomas’s first step ability at rushing the QB? Does anyone really think Albert is = Roaf? If so, great!

But to go along with your premise, DT would be starting, because he would have no alternative, unless he likes to lose, same with Roaf. LJ has not played to that level.

If you think Haley is an idiot, and only plays practice players, then by does Dwayne “oops, it hit me in the hands” Bowe start every week?

Would Haley play them today? in 2009

With the skill they have and didn’t practice the “right 53” mindset?

The better question is would we “allow” a DT on todays Chiefs, if we somehow find one?

Quite possibly.

On the other hand, for the exception of the reported first meeting with Brian Waters, he seems to have had nothing but good things to say about him.

Just kidding, maybe Roaf but DT I don’t see as the type you do that too, particularly with his INSANE skill level.

On a related note, what’s that about them not practicing? Until this season I was mostly a Sunday fan, didn’t really go out looking for the news, so I evidently missed that back in the day. Sounds really surprising for me in regards to DT at least.

He wouldn't have had too.

They were already great players. He is trying to pull the greatness out of our current stars. You notice he has never had to bench Brian Waters. Waters is a constant pro. He does the things it takes to get the best out of himself every week. Thats what Haley is looking for. A better question to me would be what would haley have done if Jared Allen was still here?
