O'Callaghan Enters the Chiefs Injury Report

Ryan_ocallaghan_mediumKansas City Chiefs starting right tackle Ryan O'Callaghan appears on the Thursday injury report with a shoulder injury.  He was labeled a limited participant.  O'Callaghan was not listed on the injury report yesterday and we have had no reports of an injury.

Branden Albert continues to be listed as a limited participant with an ankle injury.  Multiple reports have said he was just jogging and walking during practice.  Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star says the odds of him playing on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers are going down.

Meanwhile, Brian Waters was upgraded to a full participant in today's practice.  He's been battling an ankle injury.

Jarrad Page is also listed as a full participant with the shoulder injury that kept him out of last week's game.  In his absence, Jon McGraw has apparently secured the starting job at safety (for now).

Mike Goff was on the injury report yesterday with a non-injury related issue but was back at practice today.

If Albert can't go, Wade Smith figures to take his spot again.  He's been seeing the reps in practice since Albert's been out.  If O'Callaghan can't go, Ikechuku Ndukwe is listed as his backup.

not cool

I like O’Call

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

John Runyan line one please

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

meh

if they liked Runyan, he’d already be a Chief

O’Call or Ndukwe… or even B-Rich at RT

yup

Landfill’s been holding it down…….I hope he can go. I never hope anybody gets hurt, but, let’s get Goff on the pine already!

Don't get me wrong, I like O'Cal

but if he AND Albert can’t play, we’re in trouble. Smith and Ndukwe are both Gs, not tackles.

No No No

That had better be a minor injury. This is all we need. He may not be Will Shields—-but we need some good news.

I know right!

If he doesn’t play, this is a TOTALLY different game.

can't afford this.....not right now

we have to be on all cylinders while they’re vulnerable…….

I think it is one of Haleys ploys to confuse the other team.

Fact is, O Call is healthier than ever. Just ready to pounce.

that's cool...

as long as they trot Ndukwe out there with 79 on his back :)

If Albert and O callaghan are out

then i think this game is over. They are one of the better ones and when they are out our line is significantly worse. LJ wont be able to get going and the Chargers will sack Cassel all night…:(

Guess I should start stretching...

Might be getting a phone call.

get down to Arrowhead, ASAP - get suited up for the game - we have the "special play" on for you

just prior to the snap, you – at the RG position – yell out “This team is going to the Super Bowl, HIKE” – the Chargers D-Line will fall down laughing, allowing JUST enough time for Cassel to complete a pass to Bowe (who of course will go out of bounds at the 5 yd line, followed by LJ into the D-Line 3x, followed by Succup and 3 pts)

Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!

Remember

We’re coming off a win, this whole team is riding high and we’re playing at Arrowhead. Our defense played pretty stout and looks to be getting stronger. Hopefully they can produce a few more points. Besides, we only have to get to their 35 for Succop, right? And field position shouldn’t be a problem because their special teams suck ass. Chiefs win this one 12-10.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

The 35 just makes it cake.

Having seen him kick so far this year, and reading about those monsters in practices, I’ve actually been annoyed a lot of the time we’ve been punting. I’m sure Haley has his reasons, probably not least of which is that he doesn’t want Succop getting hit trying to muscle one out there, but I think the idea of us booting a FG ever time we cross the 40/45 hilarious. Let’s see how many teams he can outscore every week while the offense get’s there crap together.

TRADE WATERS!!!

I dont know what the they see in him i see a swinging door that has also become penalty prone and yes i know they kept him this year so that they could show that they call the shots not players but damn he is the most over rated player on our team! he was only a stud pro bowl talent gaurd when he had the beast around him. only reason he made the pro bowl last year was because of his name!!! the talent around him exposes him now and did even last year. so my point is that if others think he is soooo good the he must have value, possibly even a 2nd rounder at worse a 3rd. trade him and replace him in the draft or kick albert back inside and draft a stud LT. albert and Okung would make a stout left side for years to come. I know ALL chiefs fans would support a O-lineman take with our first picked!!!!

by emmy12 on Oct 23, 2009 4:27 AM CDT reply actions

So we have 2 starting lineman (on an already terrible line) injured

and your comment is lets trade away another. Interesting strategy.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

See?

This is why you’re not the coach.

by JacinB on Oct 23, 2009 9:31 AM CDT up reply actions

TRADE WATERS!!

It makes perfect sense for him not to be a chiefs next year!!! If he’s old and not worth anything then why keep him around to watch him get old like the last regime did with the o-line. extra picks mean flexibility in the draft. trust me im happy with leaving albert at LT but it shouldn’t be tough tough to replace waters thats for sure!!!! he’s a has been! and yes he’s getting a lil long in the tooth but apparently his stock is decent or he wouldn’t have made the pro bowl last year.
