Agree in principle
Although, as I understand it, part of the rule is to keep the field “pure” so that the spot where the ball is placed isn’t improved.
I’m not a kicker, though, so I have no idea if there is an advantage to be gained from kicking off tape instead of grass or mud.

Thats a REALLY stupid rule
Never even heard of it till now. I see it all the time in the nfl. Clearly its not something that is enforced
