The Chiefs running backs vs. SD
So the Chiefs host the Chargers this Sunday in what should be a grind out type game. I can see the Chiefs playing pretty well in this game, as the Chargers are kind of an enigma. They sometimes look like a playoff team and other times seem to lose their identity.
I am hopeful that based on our lack of a running game thus far, although Larry Johnson was better against the Skins, I hope the Chiefs give Charles AND Savage some plays. Savage, looked pretty good in his limited opportunites and the Chiefs could really benefit from throwing some more screen plays.
I know it takes an athletic offensive line to get out and block on a screen play, but KC needs to mix it up with as many different looks as possible. Use the assets.
Charles and Savage could provide some nice relief and a changeup, so the Chargers are on their heels more. Johnson has just not had the burst this year.
Thoughts?

The last thing we need is more f'in screens
But hey, I really hope we pound pound pound that rock all day long. Wear em out early and let our conditioning take over the game later on.
Penn State to Kansas City...Always a winning combination.

If I see another screen...
I’m going to yank my f"ing hair out. They arent working, especially in our 3rd and 16 situations that we seem to keep using them in.
The WR screen isnt doing much for us either, especially in the first series of the Washington game…

I think...
Let LJ pound it and wear down the defense. If Haley wants draw plays then give it to Charles who has the speed to get around the corner. Make them respect our run game.
The Chiefs were actually good the last time Kenny Smith has played in a game. Gives you an idea of how long ago that was. lol

my hunch - just a hunch - is that LJ will continue to get the vast majority of carries ...
until after the bye week when we begin to see Kolby Smith, at least some
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
Hope so
I have Maurice Jones Drew on a bi-week so I’m starting LJ on my FF team.
Craig is getting nervous about that one.
Week 7 Prediction:
Kansas City Chiefs 77 - San Diego Chargers 2

craig-
Me too… MJD on the bye, LJ in the lineup…
He should at least get 8 points again, right?

* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
He may do okay vs SD...
I wouldn’t expect a HUGE performance but, somewhere in the neighborhood of last week isn’t out of the question. Maybe even a little better.
chargers really are soft
we just need to beat em up they are scared to get hit ……not allowed to juice up anymore
actually SD can get killed by screens
but with a lack of williams at NT…we should be able to run all over them….by that I mean LJ may average…4 per carry heh…
La la la la
Our O-line sucksat running the screen. Just not athletic enough to pull it off.
Corrected that for you.
Let LJ pound it and wear down the defense
3 and punt, 3 and punt, 3 and punt …. Yeah, that’ll wear the other team out. All that time sitting on the bench is sure to wear them down. They will drink so much Gatorade that they make themselves sick and can’t play. =P
Charles and Savage to share the carries and “catch” more balls than they run with. With San Diego struggling so badly to get pressure on the QB I think this is the week that the Matt Cassel shows us he can throw the ball 35 times a game if he has to.

I'd actually like to see that Tex.
It’s high time that Coach Haley unleashes Cassel. I for one am dying to see what he can do.
