A love letter to Mike Vrabel

Dear Mike,

During the whirlwind offseason there was a multitude of positive sights and sounds coming from Arrowhead, and I road those positive vibes into the season.  However, one of the disappointing spots in the offseason was your apparent bad attitude.  Granted, I knew that you were coming from one of the greatest teams in the history of the NFL, but I was still a little upset at what appeared to be a lack of enthusiasm on your part for our promising, young program.  So, it was safe to say I was not your biggest fan when practice started.

Oh how I have changed my tune.  Despite all the trouble we are in as a team, you have been the constant professional in what has to be a very disappointing situation.  I see that you are always making plays, always hustling, and always fighting hard for a team at the polar opposite of what you had in New England.  You changed uniforms in the declining years of his career to join a team just beginning to show life.

You are anything but the prototypical vets in the last years of their careers who only play for the pay (like other players on your team perhaps).  Your 21 solo tackles, sack, 2 tackles for a loss, three pass deflections and one memorable touchdown catch are near the top of our great team.  For this unrewarded enthusiasm, constant hustle, commendable leadership, and impressive heart I would like to give you the credit you deserve.

So, here’s to you, Mike Vrabel.  You could be playing on a team that obliterated the Titans by 59 points, but you are being the ultimate professional on a team that has a kicker for an MVP.  KC thanks you, Mr. Vrabel, and please, please, please, keep up the good work.

Love,

… and in this particualr case I think that’s about what whill happen

what I’d like from you, though, is an explanation of WHY you think Vrabel “sucks” – back it up, kid!

Trust me for a person who held his helmet most the redskins game

This dude is fired up. He works with Hali non-stop pretty much when they come off the field to tell hali what he needs to do better. He gets with the dbs and the lineman to make words to call out if its run or pass. Dude is amazing. And trust me i was right up on him hes huge. Hes a great guy and trust me he gives the offence hell " Damn it convert this 3rd down i don’t feel like playing again yet" lol he said something like that which just got me cracken up

I never felt

That he had a bad attitude early on, just that he’s a union guy and SOMEBODY has to exercise their right to not practice. He has been giving us one hell of an effort and great leadership. He may almost have been worth a second round pick all on his own.

My general reaction to the trade

Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!

Part of me is DYING to know what this is from

The other part of me knows that the rest of the movie/TV show/commercial cannot possibly be as awesome as this part. It might be nicer to just have it completely out of context like this.

Bobby?

Haley told the offense to run it again. When someone said the defense already knows the play he responded, "So what, make it work."

Nice one

He’s really pulling off that veteran mentor role and making the most of it. Maybe he sees the potential and hopes he can get us there while he’s still playing.

Oh and Rec’d!
