Expecting a win Sunday
Would be a statement meant for fantasy land nowa' days for Chiefs fans, but I have a little bit of a different feeling coming into this game against the Chargers. You can call it a gut feeling if you want, but I think very strongly that we will win. This game will be a close one, but the Chiefs will be victorious. WHY?
1. LJ was on the verge of breaking 100 yards against the Redskins. I believe he will go 100 + against th Chargers.(LJ had 83 yards vs. Redskins) He is due for a breakout game.
2. One of our corners will have a game changing INT or "turnover" if you will. Don't ask me why, but it seems we have been inches away from making big plays in everygame. Call it a hunch, but the inches will be accounted for against San Diego.
3. The Chargers D wasn't looking too strong against Denver Monday night, and we will exploit it.
4. Our passing game is improving, although the W was ugly Sunday, D-bowe had 109 yards recieving.
5. We are playing at Arrowhead.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Chargers have only one more win than the Chiefs
The Chiefs can beat the Chargers for sure but only if they can stop Rivers from blowing up the 2ndary. As much as I think he is a moron River’s is pretty good. If the Chiefs D can take another step forward then we have a chance to ull out abother gritty win.
The Chargers can’t run on anyone and our run D is fine so if we can keep the Charger passing game in check we have a chance.
Also they suck against the run so if we can get the running game going that will enhance our chances.
The Chargers are totally ebatable. I wouldn’t rank them much hight than the Cowgirls right now and we nearly beat them.

Big factor missing
My parents are currently visiting me in Phoenix all the way from lil old England, we are all flying into KC later this week to see the game (err, and the in laws). It will be their first live experience of Arrowhead so I hope it’s a good one.
Blame my wife!

I hope its a stellar live Arrowhead experience
Going to the game Sunday with my bro, nephew and my father. My father has never been to a Chief’s game, but he’s been to several Ram’s games. Hah!
First time to Arrowhead for me since the playoff loss to Denver in 1997,

I feel bad for your Dad.
Rams games are horrid.
Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

Agreed
Plus it’s a short week for them. If we can keep their receivers out of the game, I like our chances. It’s okay, you can call me homer :-0

If our secondary plays well we can beat them. I think our D is good enough against the run.

agreed...
and their OL is struggling… the Broncos got a TON of pressure on Rivers…
if Hali and company can do the same… KCs in decent shape…
but, the offense HAS to get in the endzone and protect Cassel… Dumvervill is a beast this yr.
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

Slowly but surely I think our offense is figuring out how to play to thier strength (what few they have). I think they will put some points uo this week.

Our secondary had 2 of their best games against Rivers last year.
They seem to know his tendencies pretty well. If our offense doesn’t play any better than the last couple of weeks, we don’t have a chance.
Do I smell a kickoff return for a TD???

that'd be amazing
I don’t even think of it as a possibility with KC, usually…

Our Corners are gonna have to step it up.
Flowers has to be on Jackson the whole game. Carr can handle Chambers, i think. Hes getting a little old and Carr can be there step for step. Put pressure on Rivers and they will have less time to get open. Our D stepped up big the last couple times we have played them so they need to turn it up and force turnovers. Our offense has to score TD’s not FGs. The way the Chargers come back we have to be up by a bit to secure a W. Lets go get em!

Im not sure you want flowers on jackson
Jackson is 6’5 and flowers is 5’9…It might not be an ideal matchup for the Chiefs.

Carr will be a better matchup on Jackson for sure
And Carr is the one who has played VERY well against the Chargers if I am remembering correctly.

Our D will have to get fired up and go head hunting for Rivers.....
….Did anyone see how fired up the Broncos D was last night? They wanted to hurt LT/Sproles and they they wanted to kill Rivers, at times it reminded me of college football with all the emotion that D was showing.

I'm pretty sure Burnett will not play Sunday. Don't know what difference that will make.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

I was kind of hoping the Chargers would win last night
‘cuz I hate playing teams after they’ve lost unless they’re a hopeless, self-destructive team and, the good thing is, I think the Chargers are heading in that direction. But yeah, screw the Raiders and the Broncos for winning and making our win just a little bit less satisfying.
by jonnyu on Oct 20, 2009 5:41 PM CDT reply actions 0 recs
Johnnyu, they are coached by Norv Turner, close enough in my book.
That was a ugly win Sunday, but a win, they have won together for the first time, now they string them together!
We have to run the gauntlet over the next few weeks, we will be better for it. Pioli is not done with the roster, he will improve it. LJ is getting ready to start whining again.

Sorry but the only way we lose this one
is if Ed Hockalee gift wraps it to them. If our D plays the same as last week, this should be an easy win, if the penalties don’t get us.

I will say this...
we do have a couple advantages. Firstly, we have a team that has a similar build to Denver. We should be able to get some solid analysis out of the monday night game film. Also The Chargers have a short week and an away game here at Arrowhead so these things could stack in our favor.
I have a feeling we will lose this game (sorry guys) but I will admit that a win would not be so crazy either.
