Curious moves by the Patriots
They've released four players in the last 18 hours, right before the trade deadline. At least a couple, including Tully Banta-Cain, are expected to re-sign with the team quickly. So what's the point? Creative accounting? Clearing roster space for a big trade?
What are they up to, and how can the Chiefs take advantage? (Likely answer: probably some sort of accounting trick, and we can't.)

I think it is just a case of the
Patriots complying with the letter of the rules but not necessarily the spirit. Creative bookkeeping. Banta-Cain is resigned to the Patriots.
