What a story...
While this is a little late, it is a nice story while you all wait for the trade rumors to become reality.
So most of you might have seen the ticket exchange on Arrowheadpride before Sunday's game. For those who did not see it, there were two free tickets to the club level being given away by Mushin. I was lucky enough to already be in Washington visiting my father in-law and was the first one to lay claim to them.
So we get to the game and already I am happy. I thought I would be one of the few people wearing Chiefs red and gold, but to my suprise was just one of thousands. After drinking some beers at the pathetic and empty bud lite pavilion at FedEx field, I met up with Mushin and got our upgraded tickets. Since I had new tickets, it was now time to find a fellow Chiefs fan to suprise with my tickets. After asking several fans, I found a couple wearing Chiefs red that had tickets in the 400's of the stadium. I explained to him why I was willing to give him my tickets for free (which were in the 200's) and he didn't seem to believe me at first. I handed him the tickets and told him to check out Arrowheadpride.com for why it happened. It was nice seeing his eyes bug out and the smile from ear to ear when he looked at the tickets and realized how much closer to the field he now was!
From there you all know what happened. A stingy D, some great plays here and there, and our first Chiefs win! What could be better then what has happened to me up to this point? Well, I quickly found out. My father in-law and I are stumbling outside the stadium looking for the right direction to head for the metro (this is after sticking around in the club level for what the Skins call the 5th quarter party). Not knowing where we are going, I approach a guy who looks nice enough. I ask him where the metro is and he offers to catch a cab together since he is going to the same place. Well, who is this nice guy willing to give a fellow Chiefs fan a lift in his cab? That is none other then Joel from Arrowheadpride.com! He has just come from interviewing the Chiefs and has his press pass and all hanging from his neck zipped up inside his coat. I am shocked. I can't imagine what I looked like when he told me who he was (maybe a giddy little kid on christmas when he opens his first present). What are the odds that I get upgraded tickets (seats my father in-law says were the best he has ever had)? What are the chances after getting these tickets that I get to see a Chiefs win? Then of all things, randomly walking up to one of the many people on the sidewalk to ask directions and have that guy be one of the people who runs the website where I got these tickets? Unbelievable!! I was able to talk all there is Chiefs with Joel while we headed to the metro and then got on the same train headed in the same direction. What a way to end the day!
Sunday was one of the best experiences I have had at a football game start to finish in a long, long time! And I have been to some really great games at Arrowhead! A huge, huge thank you to Mushin for offering those tickets, and a huge huge thank you to Joel for making this website the best Chiefs website on the web and being one hell of a nice guy!
Cheers
Mike

Hey Mike!
Ha…that was the most random event of my life. I couldn’t believe it. Glad you were able to score some nice tickets! And good call giving your extras to another Chiefs fan!

Very Cool!
What are the chances you would be a celebrity like Joel? LOL. We are all jeolous of his access but it is through great AP work. I hope to hear more from Joel in the upcoming months of what it is like being able to have access and talk with players and coaches. What did he imagine it being like and has it exceeded his expectations. Great story…

Thanks, kcchief02. Makes me smile. And I’ll add that my experience echoes the fact that Joel and Chris are genuinely good guys. All on a winning day!!!

Paying it forward...
Rec’d and great post, it’s great to be a Chief’s fan! Curious though, you said after asking several fans, were all their seats better, or were they just unbelieving?

Yes
If you can believe it, I asked about 7 or 8 groups of people who were wearing Chiefs gear if they would like better seats and they all were in club already or were down in the 100’s. I started to wonder if all the Chiefs fans that came to the game were rich or something..haha..

I commented on Saturday how cool it was to watch the ticket with mushin trickle down
But that is just an awesome story. One of the coolest things to come from AP, in my opinion. Awesome.
Erykah Badu, I have accepted your proposal. So, Mrs. DTR, let's get to consummating...you are on notice.

Cool Story
I was at the game too (which was awesome because was first chiefs game ever) and I was surprised about how many people had chiefs apparel on as well. Great that we won.

There were alot of Chief faithful in the section we were at.
Most of the Skins fan bailed early even though they had time to make a comeback.
