Reviving the hatred

Our Chiefs just got their first victory of 2009. Next up for them are the San Diego Chargers who are visiting Arrowhead for Military Appreciation Day. Not to take away from the victory from yesterday i would just like to highlight a few reasons why i hate our conferance rival the Chargers, and why the boys in red and gold need to crush them.

I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for 4 years and inbetween deployments got to watch 3 games at Qualcomm with the Chiefs only winning one in 2007 with a score of 30-16.  My hatred for everything Chargerish stems from this game. The Charger fans are a joke, a mockery of what real football fans are. During this game they jumped out to an early lead and my oh my how everyone was excited. But when our Chiefs came from behind to win it was funny how everyone in the stands started chanting for Marty's head. All the years i was in San Diego i would only see Charger stickers midway thru the season after they are doing good. Last year i was no longer in San Diego thankfully but had to endure 2 painful games just like everyone else.

This year it will be big for us to beat them at Arrowhead. Honestly im praying for inclement weather and a packed and revived Arrowhead Stadium. If the wind is cold and from the north, then the pretty, sunshade wearing, cream puff blue wearing Chargers will know they are far from their tropical, traffic jammed, non-english speaking confines. Not to mention when they hear the roar of 80,000 Chief fans. We have to have justice for last year. This week Coach Haley needs to install hatred in all the Chiefs. They need to come out with fire, backed by their fans and not get into another close one. I want this game over by halftime.

I hate every team in the NFL but the Chiefs, and while some will say hate it such a strong word, i hate every other team in our conferance more than i hate every other team in the NFL. The fans and the Chiefs need to revive this hatred, we have to let the Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers know that when this team starts firing on all cylinders they should just forfit, dont board the plane to KC, fake an injury, do whatever you must just stay away from Arrowhead because certian doom awaits you.

While most of you will dissect the win on Sunday and talk positives and negatives, trades and rumors, i will be here reading your posts, and boiling over with hatred waiting until Sunday when we show them how much we really hate them!

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I gotta come clean

I hate the Chargers with a passion and always will with Rivers at the healm. Similarly I used to hate Denver the same with Cutler and the Ratface, but since removing those two and actually watching a successful conversion from the 4-3 to the 3-4 take place (in one off-season no less) I’m slowly becoming a Bronco’s fan. Blesphemy, I know. But you can’t deny the strides they’re making over there. Maybe its jealousy, envy; I dunno. But McDaniels makes me wish he would have held out longer and waited for Pioli to offer him the job. There’s not even a discussion who the better game planner or offensive coordinator is. Haley though much more tenured in the league is not as prepared to be a HC in this league as Joshy boy is.

Whaaaa?

I’m slowly becoming a Bronco’s fan

I agree, its commendable how they so quickly they turned around their defense, but to call yourself a fan!!!????
I think this douche is a good QB, but I’d never call myself a fan:

If you find yourself rooting for a certain team

your a fan whether you like it or not. And every game they’ve played in thus far, I’ve been rooting for them. That will all change come week 12

We have a chance to improve a lot by week 12.

Maybe we can win a squeaker at home against the Donks? I h8 the Broncos and the Chargers FAR more than the Raiders. I can understand the Raiders at least because both of our organizations have struggled the last few years but, SD and Denver have owned the AFC West for far too long. It’s time for the Chiefs to back what is rightfully theirs.

Maybe next year?

You almost gotta pity the Raiders

then you meet their fans and take it all back. It’s just crushing, from a football perspective, to see an organization fail so miserably and yet so consistently on Day 1 picks. It’s uncanny.

Did you see that comment from the Raider fan on "Arrowheadlines"

Coach Cable had to get the approval from Al Davis to “Blitz more”.
Can you imagine trying to work in an organization run so shitty???

Maybe its just me, I think thats udderly rediculous that a coach would have to ask the owner permission to do his job.

This is no news

Al Davis is the worst micromanager in all of the land. The Raiders will never be taken seriously until the Lord Sith meets an eternal demise.

That's where we're different

He’s such a bitch, I mean SUCH a bitch, I could never bring myself to admit Rivers is good. Despite his numbers.

It's hard to front on A.J. Smith

he builds his football teams like its Madden. His success in the draft is utterly ridiculous

For Rivers, Merriman and Kaeding? Thats a pretty damn good trade/draft

I disagree

How could you hate anyone worse than the stinkin Raiders????

by iachiefsfan on Oct 19, 2009 2:51 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

maybe because for years ... YEARS ... Denver beat us when it mattered most while the Raiders were ... the Raiders

Elway’s comebacks … omg how I hated it! die, horseface, die!!! and yet, had to admit, they were GOOD! damn good, and THAT’S why I grew to hate Denver so much, while the Raiders … yanno, just a joke now, no more than an (Art) Shell of what the organization used to be (sorry, had to toss that in), self-destructing at every turn (but I will say they have THE most classless/tasteless fans ever)

From what I have seen from the Broncos....

….is the Defense has gotten filthy good UNDER Mike Nolan, which I think was genius move. Josh McD has really done a nice job helping Orton along but it’s not like they have been lighting the scoreboard up with Josh at the helm and they won’t because Orton is doing what he does best and thats managing the game. I give more credit to the job Nolan has done than what Josh has done.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

by BigRedChief on Oct 19, 2009 2:24 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

No way

its equal if anything. They wouldn’t be winning games if weren’t for McDaniels play calling. He doesn’t need a Pro Bowl arm, he just needs someone to control the ball. Nolan unquestionably has done a remarkable job but Joshy boy also had a big hand in bringing in the talent thats filled out that D. Kudos go to both men, but saying Nolan deserves the lions share is misplaced

I gave credit to both of them.....

…. I just think Nolan’s work has out performed Josh’s work. They are not scoring a lot of points but they are giving up very few. Without that defense the Broncos are maybe a 2 or 3 win team, maybe. I am surprised how well Josh has done, especially after the terrible start but it appears he has a hold on the locker room and that may be the most important thing he can do for that franchise.

Back to the topic

I hate Denver end of story they are in our division and have beat the Chiefs in years past. I hate the Raiders, granted they are not what they were, but that goes back to the 70’s and late hits and cheating in every possible way. To which you can add the Broncos to I recall well the game the O-line came out of the locker room covered in Pam cooking spray.

Scum Diego well even though I hated being stationed there I never really felt a rivalry with them, they are too California. Tofu eating, wine at the game, don’t tailgate worth a damn, fair weather fans. Their fan base just doesn’t seem to care and thus neither do I. The only times I could really get excited about a Chiefs Vs. Chargers game was when it effected the Chiefs spot in the playoffs. I had always felt more of a rivalry with the Sea Chickens, and DT playing his ass off. Their fans cared and made the games interesting.

Yes we need to get back our home field advantage and Yes we need to get back to the “you don’t lose to a division rival” state of mind. I miss the way Arrowhead was talked about, I miss the MNF crew making a stop in KC every year. And I miss the way things were, but I hope in time all the new fans will get to share all these things Chiefs fans have come to expect from our team.

Ever Faithful to the Chiefs

is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

I’m a Chiefs fan Dammit and I’m damn proud of it!

by KC Fanatic on Oct 19, 2009 2:39 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

i miss MNF at Arrowhead as well

i just think to many people on here “tolerate” our division rivals, even compliment them. I never will, ever, i hate everything that is raider, charger, and bronco related with a passion!!!

Norv Turner was the coach in the 2007 season..Not marty

By I was there and wow was that a great game…It almost kinda had the feel to the chiefs vs. packers game in 2003…Actually it didn’t but it was fun as hell..

And the fans there are incredibly fair weather…They were calling for norvs head the moment they lost to us…

I actually don’t dislike diego too much..i’ve always disliked the broncos much much more for some reason..

We’ll have a better shot of beating diego next week if they win tonight..

by CALIFAN1986 on Oct 19, 2009 2:45 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

there are NO division games that are un-winnable

The Chiefs can beat the Chargers, Broncos, Raiders on any given day…

Especially at home… we have to get back to the days where you EXPECT to at least win all the home division games, EXPECT to beat the Raiders twice, and HOPE to beat the Broncos and Chargers on the road

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

With lots of injuries.

It is nice though having SD playing on MNF with a short week to prepare for the Chiefs.
I’m not sure how much that matters, but it gives them 1 1/2 less days to prepare!

Way to start to get us psyched up jrcnc!

Yeah. We need the momentum from last week to push the fans for this game. Two weeks ago we pushed a team that was supposed to be better than us into OT. This week we won our first game. The trend is ticking up. This should get the fans in Arrowhead PUMPED UP in those stadium seats.

We had two very close games against the Chargers last year. There is no reason why they should be some dominant team over us.

Even though no one expects us to win the division this year rival games always mean bragging rights. That means we have to bring it on Sunday.

by Primussux on Oct 19, 2009 3:26 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

I went to the Donkeys site on SB Nation and looked through their gameday thread.

Since they play tonight they were watching a few of the games to include the Chiefs Sunday. They’ve gotten very condescending over there. Yes, they are 5-0, good for them. Everybody else is a joke to them, with the exception of themselves. It’s funny how quickly they’ve forgotten their recent past and all is well. The thing is they still haven’t run their gauntlet yet and I hope they loose every one.

Frankly I don’t know which one I want to see loose the most. I have to confess I am like Craig and hope nothing but injuries on them. I know, not a nice thing to say, but that is how I feel about it right now.

Never apologize for hating the Denver Broncos

Never.

I despise the shit out of every other team in our conference. Hell, I still hate the Seahawks from when they were in the AFC.

I normally don’t wish injury to any player. After reading the comments and seeing their spite, I do now.

So, you have an entire post about why you hate the Chargers and the words "Philip Rivers" were never mentioned...

I really hate Rivers. I have a sports and coaching background, so I almost never wish injuries on players, but I am more than willing to make an exception for Rivers. I wish a Theisman-like injury on him — one that gets replayed for decades.

Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family.

I have a different take

I enjoy beating our divisional foes more than any other team. The only thing I want to see more than the Chiefs running the table on the AFC West is winning another Superbowl. The opposing players that tick me off most are almost always divisional players. (And I agree, Unibrow, the Seahawks still get partial credit from me in that area)

But on the other hand, when the playoffs roll around if the Chiefs aren’t in it I cheer for the AFC West teams all the way to the Superbowl. And if there aren’t any AFC West teams, I go for the original AFL 8. Then the AFC. It’s like they’re the black sheep members of my dysfunctional family. I actually take pride that the AFC West has 3 SB winners and one SB loser and only the much hated NFC East can match that.

So I have a hard time using the term “hate”. I want to kick San Diego’s ass this week though. I’d like to beat them so badly that Norv Turner get’s demoted and AJ throws another fit and publicly calls out his team again. Maybe our goal this season should be to get opposing coach’s fired.

My sister went to school in Petaluma too.......

Her boot camp was in Cape May, NJ. She’s an Air Traffic Controller monitoring for low flyers at Reagan International, so needless to say, her boyfriend who she met out there in DC got his little heart broken this weekend……..Sorry about telling you my sister’s life story Krayfish, we don’t even know each other.

Again I looked throughout the earth and saw that the swiftest person does not always win the race, nor the strongest man the battle, and that wise men are often poor, and skillful men are not necessarily famous; but it is all by chance, by happening to be at the right place at the right time
