Pride and Prejudice: Welcome to Monday

Welcome to the Monday after a long awaited WIN. God it's glorious to type that, think that, say that the Chiefs WON! Color me anything but black or gray right now because, WHEW! It's such a great day when your team wins, and things go right for them for once. The calls seemed good (from what I was able to see) from the refs, the Chiefs moved the ball between the 20's fairly well I thought, and the defense got some huge stops against a team with enough players on offense that could have been dangerous and looking for vengeance. Be prideful in being a Chiefs fan, today, tomorrow, all the time. The Chiefs absolutely earned this one.

Star-divide

I hope everyone goes to work tomorrow talking about how great it is the Chiefs won, even though it was against a team like the Redskins. But the 'skins have some solid players that could explode all over your face at any moment. Haynesworth, Portis, Betts, Cooley, Moss, Randel El, even Campbell is a decent QB (well, better than FatMarcus Russell anyway) and anyone of those guys could have made a play at any point in the game to change things for the worse. The Chiefs adapted, worked with what they got, and put together a damn fine game against a pretty damn good defense and potentially potent offense (if not coached by Zorn, which he was officially relieved of OC duties after losing).

While I want you to be prideful, and enjoy this win, remember, this team is still trying to find things out about itself and find how they have to win every week. They are making strides to find their limitations but not test them in a way that they bite themselves in the ass. Don't get overly optimistic they've turned "the corner" and have found their way. Remain prejudice against unwarranted optimism. Tomorrow is a new day, and I'm pretty sure in Todd Haley's mind, the Chiefs are 0-0 this week. The monkey is off their backs, now they have to focus on scoring touchdowns.

Remain vigilant, Chiefs fans. Rejoice today, but be cautious for tomorrow.

I think we are staying pretty grounded here at AP.

Evidenced by the debate still going on about what was good and what was bad. We still have a lot of problems to fix and things to work on. I’m sure a lot of people will be focused on the MNF game to see what we may be up against with San Diego coming to town.

It was relief and great to finally get a win. It’s a nice little boost for the team.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

I have no doubt in my mind that Coach Haley won't let the men get complacent

I know we’ve never seen how he deals with the team after a win, but he seems like the type that will build off the win and continue improving the team instead of letting anyone get too cocky or lazy.

He has plenty to work on and so does the team, but it will be a whole lot more fun to work hard and get better after a WIN!

I was glad we won...

But I wasn’t that crazy about it…It was a game I expected us to win. Glad we have some success but they are a pretty bad team (that we beat)

I was absent from the post game stuff because I was on the way to Norman for the U2 concert…it was amazing…amazing seat upgrade for free…stories later, perhaps, sleep for now…
