Looking At The Strong Safety
As we've all seen this season a big soft spot on are defense and below I am going to analyze all of are safety's and safety's we could pick up in the off season.
SS Mike Brown: Bench him and start DaJuan Morgan he's fresher and faster and he played good in the last preseason game against St. Louis Rams. Then If he fails they could Draft Berry or Mays But i would not want us to waste that pick
so I say they sign O.J Atogwe of the rams who wants out of there and he had 80 tackles four forced fumbles and 5 interceptions and is still young at 28.
Dajuan Morgan: Keep him he's young and is a valuable player for the secondary of the chiefs.

I would have agreed before the game
but after brown saved our butts stopping that 78 yard run, he gets another week

that was a great damn TD saving tackle
he could not have played that any better at that point. He stayed on his feet and avoided getting taken out of the play, and made the tackle when he could…saved 4 points

Well he could have played it better...
He coulda stop them for 75 yds. Na he did good but I still think McGraw did better. I think Morgan and McGraw should start.

brown
Mike did exactly what he was supposed to. He’s the last line of defense.

I haven't been impressed with Morgan.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Frankly I'm not sold on either one of them
Youth doesn’t always mean a player is better. Morgan is probably much faster than Brown at this point, but that doesn’t matter if you’re out of position. That said, Brown has made more than his share of mental mistakes this season. Saving a TD today certainly helped get him of my list, though.
I would love to draft Eric Berry or Taylor Mays this offseason, though that would mean we didn’t get an offensive lineman which we probably need more. I just think one of those guys is going to be a star, maybe both.

I think the Berry following is growing.
Im ok with brown for the rest of this season. I kinda hope Morgan gets dealt for a 4th or 5th rounder today or tomorrow…ive never been all that impressed even by 3rd rounder expectations.
As for McGraw….lets just say despite his play this week, Ill be happy when Page comes back next week
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?

I know there's a lot of enthusiasm for him
and I think adding a top safety could be the most important addition we could make to our defense. But I’d hate to pass up a top O lineman for anything else. How deep is this draft for O line?

Does it bother anyone
that we might not be worrying about this if Peterson doesn’t trade down for Johnson, letting our pick go to the Steelers who take Polamalu?

Peterson ? Who was he, I've already forgot !

It's just one of the things that has stuck with me and pains me everytime I watch the Steelers
I honestly believe that is Peterson doesn’t make the trade, he still doesn’t pick Troy. And it’s a mistake to forget the past – it’s how one gets perspective.

To be fair
Peterson once traded up to get Tony Gonzalez, that was a pretty wise decision.
Then again, with Polamalu on that awful 2003 defense, maybe we could have stopped the Colts at least ONCE in the Playoffs :(

Yes - I give Carl high marks for a few things
And that move is high on the list. But looking back his bad drafts, trades, and FA selections really outweigh the good. Even with that I still think his hiring was one of the best things to happen to KC. He just stayed too long.

Our Safeties are gonna be fine !
2010 we’ll see Page and Morgan as starters at safety and McGraw/Brown at #2’s. Don’t forget Morgan came out early from college last year and still might be a little behind. McGraw and Brown still have plenty of game ie yesterdays game with a sack and TD saving tackle. Sure every DB in the league is gonna get beat at some point, give em a chance. D-backs aren’t any different than the o-line in terms of unity. They’re in a new system so give them some time to develop some chemistry.

I used to think safeties just need to be good
and you got your playmakers at LB, DE, and CB. But seeing how much different the Steelers are without Troy, and how the Colts differ when Sanders plays, has really changed my viewpoint. The best Chiefs defenses had outstanding safeties. Johnny Robinson, Gary Barbaro, Lloyd Burress and Deron Cherry. Those were outstanding defenses. I’d like to see KC get a standout safety and see if we can’t return to the defenses of old.
