Chiefs Pitching a Shutout Against Redskins
It's halftime of the Kansas City Chiefs road contest against the Washington Redskins.
There are definitely some pockets of open seats here in FedEx Field. Judging by some fan messages I've read this morning, a lot of folks are upset CBS is showing this game in D.C. instead of the Giants/Saints.
Well, tough. We're in a battle of offensive ineptitude defensive battle. Here a few interesting notes from Chiefs PR:
- Dustin Colquitt now has more punts inside the 20 than any Chiefs punter in history
- Chiefs have a first half shut out for the first time in almost exactly two years.
Here are a few more notes from the first half of today's game:
LJ on pace for 100 yards
RB Larry Johnson currently has 56 yards rushing which puts him on pace for his best day of the year topping his season high of 78 yards against the Oakland Raiders in week two.
LJ's stat sheet is pumped up by a 17 yard run which is his high for the season.
First quarter: 4 carries, 14 yards/2 catches, 8 yards
Second quarter: 7 carries, 42 yards/1 catch 4 yards
Down goes Waters
On a 3rd and 5 from the 49 yard line, with under 3:00 left in the first half, Chiefs G Brian Waters went down. He was grabbing his left leg while trainers tended to him for a few minutes on the sideline. He got up, and walked off the field under his own power.
We're checking on the situation now will keep everyone informed when/if we learn anything.
Update: Waters came back for the third quarter.
Campbell vs. Cassel
Jason Campbell is curently 9/16 for 89 yards. Matt Cassel is currently 10/17 for 80 yards.
So far, neither quarterback has taken the lead. Campbell threw an interception with no time left in the first half.

In Pittsburgh...
the referee signals 1st Down Pittsburgh after 4th and 1, measurement showed that Pittsburgh was CLEARLY short. I look forward to seeing how this plays out this week.

delay of game on defense?
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
