Around SBN: Notre Dame's Turnaround: How Have The Irish Done It?

Instead, Dorsey got to it. What were his choices? He said it's his job to do what his coach tells him, unsettling as it sounds. But his weight gain was so overwhelming that his body revolted. A player once deemed the NFL's next great defender was, in just one year, eating himself out of the NFL.

"It's been a long road for him," Haley says.

Here's hoping he still will become the NFL's next great defender

opposite Jackson those two could become very feared if a solid NT is put in place

Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.

Just think if Haley had to coach J. Russell

He would either turn him into a stud or end up in prison for killing his fat lazy arse.

It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

Very true Porkchop, REC!

We have to run the gauntlet over the next few weeks, we will be better for it. Pioli is not done with the roster, he will improve it. LJ is getting ready to start whining again.

I have more respect for Dorsey now than I did...

I know he came into camp out of shape, but I had no idea that he had lost all that weight

Desperately hoping for Desperate Measures

If he turns it around he owes Haley big time

I can’t imagine Herm pushing him to get into shape. It’s pretty clear he had him playing at too high a weight last year.

Translation

If kept under Herm’s coaching, Glen Dorsey would have been Ryan Sims 2.0

Version 2.0, or just twice his weight?

It does sound like he was on the JaMarcus Russell diet.

I wonder how he would have done

if we let him play at 340 as a NT instead of a DE???

by callmesir on Oct 18, 2009 1:40 AM CDT reply actions

yeah 340 for a 6 1 man

is clearly heavy…. Just curious.. have no way to tell how he would have done… but if he could have kept any of his athleticism… he’s a guy that would always command a double team.

Remember Haley vs Bolden

Hey I thought Bolden was going to hit haley. then they are best friends. remember when asked if he would have guy named T O on his team he did not say no. Haley has a way of working with players. I think he will make Dorsey a better player.like him or hate him Haley has done a lot of good for the players.
