Mr. Thorman Goes to Washington

This week there was an item on the KCTV-5 evening news that talked about the most "influential" Kansas City Chiefs site out there and, of course, they talked about Arrowhead Pride.  Positive comments about the Chiefs on the web actually increased last week according to a report.

"Also we saw that Arrowhead Pride, which is one of the big blogs about the Chiefs, has been really influential. The top three influential URLs came from that site," the newscast said.

Check out the full video here.

So much of the positive talk about the Chiefs out there can be contributed to you all.  Pretty cool, huh?

To keep the positive momentum going I made a list minute decision: I'm taking an early morning flight to Washington D.C. and attending the Chiefs vs. Redskins game.  I'll be up in the press box and in the locker room after the game, where we will hopefully be talking about a win.

And our own Official Arrowhead Pride PARADE will be attending the game as well.  Must be nice to have friends with tickets, right PARADE?

Drop some questions you might have in the comments section and keep an eye on the Arrowhead Pride Twitter page on gameday to keep up with me.

Joel, you are our hope and our salvation, of whom should we be afraid?

We may have to break out a digital camera for this one. Of course we’ll photoshop our own face blurry. But this could be the first step in zee AP Dokumentary.

Been to D.C. quite a bit, actually

And I always go to the Air and Space Museum and get space food.

Neapolitan Space Ice Cream

Reminds me of my trips in my youth to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson. Saliva-creamy-strawberry-forced goodness. :)

What about the twinkie?

I have to admit

This is pretty cool… I’ve been reading different sports blogs for the better part of 5 years…. and I never thought they’d get to the point where they’d be considered legit press… A lot of hard work must got into everything you do….. Thanks for maintaining the site and hooking us up with all kinds of great info…

D.C. is my old stomping grounds… I went to school there…. hope you have fun… you can’t go to D.C. and not go to the brickskellar…… Over 1000 different kinds of beers… no that’s not a typo 1000 from all over the world…

Yeah

Chris lived in DC for a few years and has talked about that place.

by Joel Thorman on Oct 16, 2009 6:08 PM CDT up reply actions

one more place to consider...

is the pharmacy bar…. I miss DC…. always something going on….. hope you have a great time man…. Wish I could go…. but going to be on the road once again…. jcaho has decided it evidently wants to inspect every single on of our labs in about a three month period…. oh well….

Again congrats on the credentials…..

So Cool!

Joel congrats and this is truly the best fan site in football! We just need our team to match our pashion for excellence. See if you can convince Haley to bench LJ for Charles and co. Lol! Look at Barber last week for Dallas, very little production. Put a shifty back that can make plays with his feet like Choice and he ran all over.

Enjoy!

Way cool!

Seriously thinking about heading down to Washington this Sunday. Don’t think it will happen, but happy to know you’ll be there. Last week, AP was the only one to have player reaction to the team’s 2-min drive, with quotes from players saying how cool and collected Cassel was. No surprise that he was (finally) asked about it in his press conference yesterday. AP = Opinion Leader. Go AP! Go Chiefs!

Very neat!

It has to be a little un-nerving these days for Witlock and his brethren to see fans flocking towards the blogs for the best discussions and late-breaking news. I know the professional sports journalists will still be around, but I think their roles will become that of strictly reporting events and covering press conferences. Sports opinion journalism is going to reside squarely on blog shoulders and you are certainly setting a high bar for others to follow.

OK….enough ass kissing…So does that Locker Room pass get you into the cheerleader locker room too?

by RrustyDawg on Oct 16, 2009 6:23 PM CDT reply actions

I think that last part...

has been the most poignant question I’ve seen in a long time…. so please answer….. cheerleader locker room??

I have already sent a personal request.

If it is not honored, DTR shall bring hell upon Joel and PARADE.

Erykah Badu, I have accepted your proposal. So, Mrs. DTR, let's get to consummating...you are on notice.

One of these days you need to write up a post about the beginning of AP. Keep up the good work.
