Around SBN: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Vow To Fit In With Lin

Those teams: St. Louis (The King of Crappy); Oakland (Queen Crappy); Cleveland and Buffalo (the Duke and Duchess of Crappy); and Kansas City, Carolina, Washington, Tennessee (the Lords of Crappy). On a neutral field, if Calvin Johnson was healthy (and right now, he's not), I'd take the Lions over any of them. So there.

He actually picked the Chiefs to win this weekend 24-10

Week 6 Prediction:
Kansas City Chiefs 77 - Washington Redskins 2

I'd take that bet

Even with Gunther having some knowledge about our team. I don’t think he has enough key info to be really dangerous with all the personnel and coordinator changes.

But I have to say it’s nice to see people placing the Chiefs ahead of some teams. I hope we can start getting wins to prove it.

to the LIONS

He didn’t have much say in “jumping ship”
any more than someone walking the plank on a pirate ship

He Was Let Go...Because He Wasn't Coming Back This Year Anyway

Gunther = Pendergast

Predictions for 2009

1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.

hah

Gunther is a highly respected defensive mind…Pendergast is around because Haley brought him over to be a position coach. Romeo was supposed to be the D-coordinator

Gunther Was An Idiot

The only time he turned out excellent defenses was when he worked with Marty Schottenheimer…who had excellent defenses everywhere he went. Once he quit working with Marty his defenses ranked anywhere between mediocre to terrible.

never said Gun wasn't average

I’m merely pointing out that no one would pick Pendergast over Gunther to lead a defense. Despite Gun’s coaching to the middle-of-the-pack, there’s no way Gunther and Pendy are on the same level. How many times does a coordinator get FIRED after being in the Super Bowl??

Not Too Often

But of course Gunther was never a defensive coordinator in a Super Bowl.

He knows a few of the players and what their tendencies are

but it’s not enough that I’d worry about him. Saying he has zero knowledge is a little extreme.

Man...

the day we become good again can’t be soon enough. I’m sick and tired of taking shit down here in Dallas w/ all these Cowboy fans. I drove up for the game with my friend who loves the Cowboys and also likes talking shit. I really thought I had bragging rights there for a second. Its like when people talk shit on the Chiefs they are talking shit us. Pisses me off.

worst teams

At least Simmons recognizes that…

St Louis
Oakland
Cleveland
Buffalo

are worse than KC

and that
Carolina
Washington
Tennessee

are just as bad as KC

his only mistake is assuming Detroit would be better than any of them.

and he forgot Tampa Bay… who could be the worst team in the league

KC could go on a run and end up being out of the top 10 in next years draft.

I think we should at least get 1 win before we declare our team better than anybody.

Right now, we are the worst team in the league along with the rest of the winless teams. Yes, even the Raiders can claim to be better than the Chiefs.

They definitely could. But more likely that they don't and end up in the top 5 or 6.

I used to work with an old man that told me. Son, every workplace has a dumbass, if you don't have one where you work, then I'm afraid you're it.

Hey at least

he went on to predict a chiefs win…. and a pretty convincing 13 point win at that…. I just don’t know how any team could loose with chris cooley on their team…. he’s my favortite nfl player of the last 15 years. He’d look awfully good in a chiefs uniform…

I like Cooley too. I wonder if they would trade a washed up RB and Sean Ryan for him?
