Any Redskins Questions? - SB Nation Skins Blogger here
Hey all, I'm the SB Nation blogger for the Redskins, Hogs Haven. If you have any questions, feel free to fire away and I'll answer them. A couple big topics in D.C. this week is that we lost Chris Samuels to an already awful offensive line. Seriously, I don't think the current line could block Miley Cyrus if she was blitzing. People here in D.C. are split whether we can pull out a win this week, which yes, is very pathetic.
The Redskins only 2 wins this year are at home, against the Rams and Bucs. The Skins have yet to play an opponent this year that has a win. Awesome.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

If I was Jason Campbell, I wouldn't want Miley Sirus to be blocked
I’d let her “tackle me”.

It really isn't that much
Everyone thinks it is $100M which is a rediculous money, but really its only $41M guaranteed. He’ll never see more than that. If you look at it that way, he makes the same amount as Matt Stafford.

I've heard
The “real” deal is $48 million over four years, which is even a little much in my mind. Paying a defensive tackle is risky business.

Thats right
I just said $41M “Isn’t that much”.
I manage a bank and we don’t have $41M

Similar to the Cassel deal, a good portion of it isn’t guaranteed. A lot of people seem to forget that when they’re bashing Pioli.

Well, it's what Snyder does...
It’s child-like logic. Skins had the 4th-ranked defense last year, but ranked bottom in turnovers and sacks, SO, you’d think adding Haynesworth would lead to the DE’s getting 1-1. For the most part it has worked. Albert has been a stud…but it’s baffling the Skins have not drafted an offensive lineman basically all decade. (Chris Samuels was the last 1st round pick and that was 10 years ago). 2nd rounders? Nope. We drafted Chad Rinehart in the 3rd round 2 years ago and he is barely serviceable.

from Joe Posnanski blog come the following thoughts ...
It occurred to me watching the Chiefs lose to the Cowboys in overtime on Sunday one reason why it’s SO HARD to go winless for a whole season or lose 28 of 30. The reason: Other teams stink too. That’s something we always used to talk about in the press boxes before NFL games. It is tempting to believe when you are covering a bad team — and I’ve had the grand fortune of covering these Chiefs and the mid-90s Bengals — that no other team could possibly be as bad. It is pretty much a weekly event before most NFL games: NFL beat writers arguing about which of their teams is worse.
Beat writer 1: BELIEVE ME, I’m telling you, the team I cover stinks.
Beat writer 2: You don’t know what stink means.
Beat writer 1: Really? Your team is going to win today by about 40 points.
Beat writer 2: The team I cover couldn’t score 40 points if the defense stayed at home.
Kevin, your thoughts on that? how “true” is that for your HogHeaven bloggers? here in KC I think most AP-ers actually believe the Chiefs have a decent chance of winning this game … what about the HH-ers?

it's split at best...
We play down to the competition every week (going back the last 3 years). No matter what, it’s going to be close. Chiefs red zone stats are impressive.

They will ranked around
16th or so after Sunday. While I do believe we have a “shot” at winning, it won’t be on the ground with LJ. The “step, step, stumble, fall” dance won’t get many yards. But hey, Haley says LJ is running hard. Does an awesome job of disguising it as lackluster, unenthused, and slow motion.
I remember Dawson to Taylor, Kenney to Carson, and Blackledge catching the snap in his facemask. Seen it all...

Kevin
Recently Jerry Jones gave a vote of confidence to Wade Phillips and the Skins players made a statement that they would like a vote of confidence from Synder concerning Zorn, which apparently won’t ever come. Plus the call for Zorn’s head on a platter from the fans. How do you think it affects the players mentality playing this week?
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

What is Sherman Lewis really doing as an O “consultant”? Hall didnt seem to think too much of him in his rant about giving Zorn a vote of confidence.

it's been REAL bad
Locker room is divided…some Carlos Rogers called out Snyder saying “the ownership is responsible for the personnel.” ouch.
Players publicly said they want Snyder to anoint Zorn for the year, but he won’t do it. It’s Snyder’s mess. He gave the Head Coach, Offensive Coach, and QB coach to a guy (Zorn) that has never called a play in his life. To make matters worse, the OC Zorn brought w/ him (Sherman Smith) had never called a play either. As for Sherman Lewis, he’s been out of the league for 5 years and sits in the press box for games. It’s clear his role is to watch and analyze Zorn….think of the movie Office Space …. “What would you say….ya do hear!?!?”

The Redskins are really in a "no win" situation this week...
Think about this, if they lose they lost to a winless team. However, if they win they would have beaten a winless team. They still have not beaten a winning team yet this season, therefore having no way to gauge any progress they may or may not have made.
But I agree with what has been posted before, in that we here at AP have more to cheer for at 0-5 then they do at 2-3. I see us more on the way up and unfortunately for their fans they could still be down.
Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.

I kind of disagree
we here at AP have more to cheer for at 0-5 then they do at 2-3
We just have lower expectations. They still have the 5th ranked Defense in all of the NFL and will punch us in the mouth if we take them lightly. This team has a boatload of talent, but like us, they took a flyer at Head Coach who seems to be in over his head.

No, it's worse than us
They took a flyer on an OC and then made him HC when Snyder couldn’t find anyone worth taking the job that was willing to work for him. That’s a seriously eff’d up organization! Say what you want about Haley, but I don’t think Pioli has burned so many bridges that he couldn’t find someone to come coach the team.

Only thing that saves Zorn’s job is if he beats the Chiefs and beats the Eagles on MNF next week. Skins are going to get blown out at home vs the Eagles….then Skins have a BYE week.
Enter…new coach.

who's your thought
as to whom that will be?
by ttownmikey on Oct 16, 2009 1:56 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
All speculation...
1.) Gruden
2.) Shanahan
I’m not excited about either. Gruden has a bad rap for how he treats his players. Everyone in DC would love for Russ Grimm to come in. He’s hard-nosed and a proven coach (SB coaching appearances with Steelers and Cardinals)….not to mention he’s one of the original Redskins Hogs.
by KevinE on Oct 16, 2009 1:58 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Do you think Snyder would let Shanahan
make the personnel decisions? I just can’t see the egos of those two guys being compatible at all.
by jmcgoblue on Oct 16, 2009 2:59 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Shanahan kind of is...
Him and Vinny Cerrato are friends, which scares me. I know Shanahan has been giving the Skins some tips…that RB we brought in for camp and signed later, Antony Alridge, (small speedster)…Shanahan’s recommendation.

He’s coming to Fedex Field for MNF next week.
by KevinE on Oct 16, 2009 4:19 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Even at that, he is still just buying time.
Unless he goes on the most amazing Super Bowl run in all of history, Zorn is a gonner. He’s already fired as far as Snyder is concerned, it’s just a matter of semantics at this point.
by Chiefsfan1970 on Oct 16, 2009 3:39 PM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
Problem for the Skins
Is that the Chiefs do not turn the ball over. For having no wins, you’d think you have a lot of turnovers, but no. I can’t see anyway the OVER hits in this game. Especially since it’s been light raining in DC the last 2 days and it’s continuing through game time.

I disagree. Portis has REALLY lost a step, and with Chris Samuels gone…the Redskins seriously have NO blockers. They all suck. When Samuels went down last week, the Panthers scored 5 sacks. That’s pathetic.
