Question about LT Okung?
If you hate draft talk then I am sorry BUT looking ahead (even Pioli talked about the draft on the radio monday) I just wanted to hear what some people have seen out of Okung. I am going to watch the MU vs OSU game tomorrow but just curious if we had any OSU fans willing to give some input. I watched OU tackle Williams get used and abused at Miami and was not impressed at all. I still think Albert can make strides and is as talented as all the OT in the draft this year.
I think we need a legit LT but with as many holes as we have on this team we cannot afford to pass on the best player if we are building for the long haul. For example, DT Suh and FS Berry are by far the most impressive players I have seen so far this year. Both made tons of plays against good teams when i watched them play. Suh could play NT in my opinion.
One thing to consider, from what i have read a LOT of very good players will be cut this year due to no salary cap and teams can kind of get out of jail free this year on any big contracts. Maybe that is why we were so quiet last year in free agency....?
Thanks for your thoughts on Okung in advance..

Aaron Curry ... we need to draft Aaron Curry
oh, wait …
never mind
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisiton!
I like Bulaga OT from Iowa, but..
Okung has faced and shut down:
1) Von Miller – Texas A&M Rushbacker leads nation in sacks 2009
2) Brian Orakpo – Texas DE in 2008
3) Greg Middleton – Indiana DE in 2007 led nation in sacks

I would love Bulaga.
He is just coming back from injury, but looks healthy. I’m a Hawkeye Homer though. The Stanzi the QB says he comes up and apologizes to him if his players even brushes him.
I'm not an Iowa homer....K-Stater here
But Bulaga just looks strong, dominant, and plays with a mean streak. He is also very athletic to handle speed rushers effectively.
The health issue (thyroid) will be looked at by teams at the combine, but his Coach says it will not be a chronic condition.

I used to think Bulaga was good..
Until Brandon Grahm a 3rd round late 2nd prospect abused him with ease. He just isnt top 10 material. If we could get him @ pick 20 it would be worth it.
Good call
I hadn’t seen the Iowa v. Michigan game. Wow….Graham did get 2 sacks on Bulaga. Kinda scary because he beat him with speed rushes. Graham does play with a great motor though and post draft he was projected as a 1st or high 2nd, he did have 10 sacks and 20 tfl last year.
An elite LT prospect should be shutting him down comletely though as Graham projects more as a left end guy, not a sack specialist.

We need a weapon
Trade down from our 1st round first pick this year (lol) and then get a running back and a RT. Then I shall be happy.
Then maybe a decent TE in the second round and a linebacker.
We need to go...
CB w/ the 1st
QB w/ the 2nd
RB w/ the other 2nd
TE w/ the 3rd
TE w/ the 4th
DE w/ the 5th
LS w/ the 6th
Really?
TE in the 3rd and 4th, no way. Also, a QB with our 2nd rounder, no way. CB with our 1st pick is ridiculous. We need a FS not a CB. You also dont have them addressing the Line at all. This has got to be the worst ive seen.
pretty sure he's kidding
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
