Who said suh wasnt a 3-4 NT
This is just a little short story im writing on suh personally I believe he would be a perfect 3-4 nose tackle look he's 6-4 303 pounds add about ten pounds of weight and he's already taking double teams every game and still is playing like a defensive star and still people are temporizing his abilities as an athlete so i dont understand this hit me up with your comments guys.

I said he wouldn't be
it just seems his skill set is more suited for a DE…
I don’t see him swallowing up blockers and pushing the pocket and stopping the run…

I agee...
his skill set is more suited for a DE in the 3-4. Could he play NT? Maybe. But I really doubt anyone is looking for him to play there.

I do want to add...
when I was watching the MU game I did not think he was very fat…and his shoulders looked about as wide as he was tall. Yikes!

whether he can be a Nt or not
there is no way we will draft him. The chiefs cant possible spend that much money on a mediocre D line. i’d rather trade for a veteran NT to show these young guys the ropes.

I'd contend that the D Line is on its way to becoming very good if not great
but, I’d agree, a veteran NT, or just keep rolling with the guys already in place.
Spend the money on Berry/Mays and the OL

If the magic year for Dlineman is 3 then I think Tank will get a fair chance to win that job.

Or, the place where they are BORN
And once they’re all grown up, they leave, in Jared Allen’s case.
I miss that guy. I’m glad he’s having fun on a good team up in Minnesota, though. He deserves it.

The only thing I care about with Suh
Is whether or not he can play right tackle on the O-Line!
If we draft another defensive lineman in the first round, we’ll be like the Lions with their WR fetish. Remember, Glenn Dorsey was regarded even more highly than Suh when we drafted him, and he hasn’t exactly set the NFL on fire… yet. Give Dorsey some time, though. He’s gotten better every week it seems.
We must address the offensive line early and often in this draft and in free agency. I would also love to see a WR drafted high because none of our project guys have been turning out. Of course, WR might just be the biggest crapshoot in the draft position-wise. For every Calvin Johnson there is a Charles Rogers.
I’m just glad the pressure is not on me to find professional-grade talent. NFL GMs have a tough job.

The only way Suh would have been a thought would have been if we had drafted Curry or OL.

Instead of Jackson.
And for the record he wasn’t my choice but I think he will be a good player eventually.

exactly
With the Jackson/Magee picks, I don’t think there’s a huge need for Suh…

Good Post
I agree with your take on his abilities, and he is being double teamed consistently yet still productive. However, I just can’t see us drafting D-line in the 1st again.

i think we need someone bigger. I hope that we win a couple of games so that we can draft out of the top 5 (or trade down).
if we go d line we should take mount cody.

I’m not really seeing why people think KC shouldn’t take Suh. A pocket-collapsing nose tackle like he could be would give the defense the pivot point it needs to run an effective gameplan without having to make too many changes to the current back eight.

Square Peg round hole
I like trying to get best players possible as much as the next guy but why draft a guy and then put him in a system where he can’t do the thing that got him drafted so high.

He could play anywhere on the DL, but
I think you waste his athletic ability by not using him as an end. He will be a force for someone.
I remember Dawson to Taylor, Kenney to Carson, and Blackledge catching the snap in his facemask. Seen it all...

With only 3 or 4 wins KC gets boxed in again
I assume Pioli et al are willing to live in misery for another 12-18 months in order to build a SuperBowl winner, not just sign some vet free agents and qualify for the playoffs from the weak AFC West. Based on GM/Coach pedigree & history I also assume they’ll look to recreate something in the NEPats/NYGiants/PittsburghSteelers mold. Where do those guys spend their first-round picks? There’s lots of scatter from year to year, but I think overall those organizations look to the draft to get a high-quality QB and WR, ProBowl-quality safeties and LB’s, and they stock the defensive line LIKE CRAZY with high-round picks. Offensive line not so much, maybe a first-round LT but mostly from mid-rounds for the O-line. Running backs mostly mid-round, only sometimes high-round picks. To me it seems like a reasonable strategy, I think for example you can chart the rise of the Patriots very closely with their defensive line talent and some good luck getting Brady to pan out. And I think the Chief’s two, long-ago SuperBowl appearances, then frequent playoff appearances in the 90’s, only came about when they had their best defensive line personnel.
KC already has their QB, possibly a long-term possession-type receiver and some defensive line pieces, maybe two or three cornerbacks who will stick around. Likely Albert will continue at LT for the foreseeable future. Huge needs on the rest of the offensive line, huge needs for speed and size at WR and LB, and another safety.
But….
If the Chiefs are in the top five of the first round, which looks likely, then I think an LB is low-probability (they’d have to trade down in the first round, very difficult to do); another LT also probably a reach given that interior line and RT are higher priority and more suitable to not-first-round picks; I think it’s risky to assume that Okung would be a significant upgrade over Albert, and he would bring a VERY high cap hit to test out that theory. Based on the prospects currently available with high 1st round grades, I think it may come down to Pioli et al making a choice between paying big money for another DL piece, or for a safety. Unless they get a good deal to trade down (if so, then all bets are off), I think they’ll be boxed into taking another top-five defensive lineman.
Yeah, yeah, the old regime already did that, but a year from now the only holdovers from those picks will be Dorsey, possibly Hali, and Pioli et al aren’t really going to care what Edwards and Peterson did, it’s their team now. They will look at the success of the Giants & Pats with their first-round DL’s, and pull the trigger on Suh or McCoy.

good points
I would not be surprised if they took another DL… probably a NT… with the first pick, assuming there is one there.
However, I think the Safety (Berry/Mays) is the BEST possible pick, and the LT (Okung or Baluga) is the NEXT best possible pick.
I’ll be disapointed if they are stuck with another DL in the top 5 picks of the draft.
