Around SBN: Jeremy Lin And How The Pac-12 Missed Him

AM 570 (Bodin): Jared, do you feel bad for your former team down in Kansas City who havent won a game yet?
Allen: (laughs) Ah man! It's pretty bad out there. I mean... (laughs). I feel bad, because I mean it's a great town. They've got great fans out there... I wouldn't wish that upon any team. I remember when I was with them we lost 9 straight. It makes you not wanna play football anymore. Makes you wanna find a deep, dark hole and bury yourself in it.
AM 570 (Hartman): Jared, these guys even lost to the Raiders!!
Allen: Yeah (laughs), I know. I don't remember ever losing to the Raiders. But now that Carl Peterson is outta there I wish those guys all the best.

Come back Jared. He’s gone.

I dont care what good Carl Peterson did for the Chiefs

It will never make up for him pissing off Jared Allen and trading him away. Arguably the best DE in the NFL and personality too. It turns my stomach into knots watching this guy dominate (like Monday night vs the Pack… 4 1/2 sacks, fumble, safety etc.). Just think, this guy (and several others for that matter) had more sacks by himself than our whole team last year. And he makes Tamba a better player. Hell, he makes everyone on the line better.

If you think about it...

If we had kept Jared we would be in so much better shape. We could have stayed in a 4-3 and drafter Curry instead of Jackson!

We’d still have decent young corners, we’d have a pass rush, and we would have Curry, Vrabel, DJ and Mays/Williams at LB.

And we would've had a better record...

And Carl and Herm would still be here and we’d still be living in mediocrity. Hmm, I think we’re better off now.

I don't know that we would have doen much better last year

Usually one player can’t make that big a difference but given the amount of close games we had last year he actually might have. Coming up with a big play in both Charger games, as well as the 2nd Donkey game and the Tampa OT game could have gotten us 4 more wins, making us a 6 win team. If that happens maybe Carl and Herm stay, say the rebuilding is working.

Imagine? We’d still have Chan and Tony G. Thigpen would be the starter. God knows where Cassel would be. He might be in NY playing for the Jet’s.

A lot of what if’s but I still think there is a good chance of HErm and Carl getting canned even if we kep JA.

well said

Fuck Carl though…

Barring any major injury,Jared will be one of the best ever at his current rate. Meaning one of the best pas rushers, and all around havoc causers to EVER play in the NFL. He is a guy you build around…not trade away. Seeing how many sacks and plays he made playing for the shitty chiefs defense is just crazy. And now with a complete unit in Minn he is a dominaint player that you must worry about EVERY down while you’re on offense.

Bottom line: he is one of the baddest MF’ers in the present and probably the future and in history.

I do appreciate what Peterson did in his first decade with Marty

but his second decade was a disaster. Jared Allen isn’t the only player that Peterson was personally responsible for losing. He ran off John Tait as well. His departure was one of the reasons the line fell apart as quickly as it did.

I miss Jared.

One of the few players who’d boldly proclaim he’s going to sack Bulger eight times, and actually believe it. God, KC was better with that crazy redneck.
