Chiefs Practice 10/15: Not Looking Good for Albert
Reports out of Arrowhead aren't looking good for the Kansas City Chiefs left tackle Branden Albert. Per Kent Babb of the Kansas City Star, Albert was in a walking boot this morning as the team conducted an outdoor practice. He was held out of practice instead walking laps around the field.
Todd Haley has previously said that for a player to be available on Sunday, he has to practice Friday. We're not sure how firm he is on that but we'll probably find out tomorrow because, as Mr. Babb points out, it's not looking good for Albert.
Others that did not participate in practice
- Kolby Smith (knee/PUP)
- Jarrad Page (shoulder)
Yesterday, Bob Gretz reported that the chances of Page playing weren't looking great. Certainly nothing is official yet but we'll keep an eye on this.
Andy Alleman returned to practice today after some neck and back spasms caused him to miss yesterday. Looks like he'll be available on Sunday, which, considering the state of the offensive line, is a good thing.
Josh Looney of KCChiefs.comtells us that there were a few extra faces at practice today: Injured reserve players Weston Dacus, Colin Brown and Jackie Battle. They were all working out in the rehab area.

Its too late in the week for Pioli to do that.....
Wade Smith will have to do. Maybe you move o callahan to the left side IDK
Ike is technically the backup LT
This has been my only major complaint about Haley this year. Since the start of the season he has ignored the fact that we only have two true tackles on this team and a guard imitating a tackle. This shows true unpreparedness.
Also, the defense is better with page in there. I am not looking forward to watching McGraw try to cover Moss and Randel-El. This might not be the gimme game I first thought it would be.
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?
yeah...
I keep waiting for another actual OT to be brought to the roster…
The practice report yesterday said Ndukwe and B-Rich were working at LT, along with Wade Smith…
so, I’m still hoping for the best there.
I’ve been a little disapointed in Page’s play… seems like he’s a step behind in coverage… though I agree that McGraw isn’t better.
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
Richardson should definitely be promoted
really…why do we have 4 tight ends and no OTs???
A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?
what's sad is your right
even though Tony is old all the TE’s on our team don’t amount to half the talent he has… Even at this age
Time is a great teacher... unfortunately it kills all it's pupils.
they also signed another T to the PS a couple weeks ago...
don’t know anything about him…

Page is bad in coverage...
He takes horrible angles. McGraw is better in coverage. I hope Morgan gets to see the feild.
OH GREAT!!
IF ALBERT DOESN"T START WE MAY LOSE!!!! Shit!!! well it was bound to happen sooner or later this season…
Dude
You’re so annoying.

I have a feeling this is gonna be a reoccuring trend
where Albert sits out 2-3 games a year due to injuries. Was hoping last year was a fluke, but if it happens again next season we have a pattern folks
