nice...
He was amazing last year, coming in and playing for real in less than a week. He’s steady, smart, and coachable, and he doesn’t make mistakes."
New linebackers coach Reggie Herring appreciates Rogers’ versatility. “He’s the ultimate utility guy,” says Herring. "He puts a lot of pressure on himself to learn every position, not just the ones he’s playing
knack for big defensive plays: second in school history in sacks, first team all-Conference USA as a senior. Nose for the ball. Motor. Football player.

I like the signing... after reading that :)
The Chiefs need help at LB, and with Battle going down… need another headhunter on the coverage teams.
Sounds like he’ll be solid depth for this team… playing the role Monty Beisel was supposed to do, but got cut.

That Was Written In Preseason 2008
He apparently didn’t help the Cowboys’ anemic defense or ST that much last season. Nor did they think he was much of an asset this season since they cut him in preseason despite needing LB help.

Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.

he's not a cure all
just a building block, special teams ace, etc.
you could say the same about McGraw, Copper and others on KC’s team…

Apparently his knee problem kept him out of OTA's and most of the preseason.
His knee problem? From what I can find out is Tendinitis. Hopefully he’s fully recovered from that.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

The Cowboys also spent a 1st, 3rd, and 5th on Roy Fucking Williams
Who at the time only had one 1,000-yd season 3 years ago. Clearly Jerry Jones doesn’t make the best deccisions when it comes to personel.
As far as him not helping out their defense… That entire squad is full of underachievers. It’s not so unlikely for a player to conform to whatever the culture is in the locker room.
Don’t be so negative all the time. Just because another decent team let him go doesn’t mean the guy is useless. We have let go of guys who were absolutely worthless for us that have gone and been solid for other teams.

A man who says he can, and a man who says he can't are both right. Which one are you?

I think it is a great move
Kolby Smith is almost available. Battle is “injured”, and he was doing well on ST. Why not pick up a gamer, who loves to hit and excel on ST? If he is an upgrade to Battle on ST, and plays a key role and improves us there, then it is a great move.
In addition, he backed up Zach Thomas, so he must have learned something. He may become a solid backup for one of our other LBs if the going get rough for injuries there.
I’m pleasantly pleased.

I would love to have the old Kolby back...
but something tells me if it has taken him this long to get back on the field, is he going to be able to play with any amount of effectiveness?

I like gamers with motors!
The never stop attitude. It’s why I liked Jared Allen so much and why I like Tamba Hali so much.
Penn State to Kansas City...Always a winning combination.
