A Letter From Scott Pioli
Today I greeted my wife at the front door and she had the mail in her hand. She handed me a 5X7 envelope. One obviously from the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club. "This one's from the "Don" I told my wife. "He's probably put a hit out on me", I jokingly said.
Sure enough I looked at the top left corner and it has Scott Pioli's return address at Arrowhead One. I opened it up and pulled out the card inside. The outside has the Arrowhead logo and Kansas City Chiefs Football Club printed on it. I opened up the card and was very much pleasantly surprised.
Let me go back to last week when I posted the letter from Todd Haley, that post and some explination. First of all I don't post these because I personally received them. I do it because of and for you guys here at Arrowhead Pride. While it's nice to get a pat on the back from you all, I have not done this for me. I did it for you, for Arrowhead Pride. I wanted to establish a new Chiefs Wolf Pack. A working mans, everyday go to your common work person Wolf Pack. Not one that you had to pay through the nose to get in to.
After posting the letter from Todd Haley, there were many comments made and I truely appreciate them. Coming from you guys it means the most to me. I truely consider these letters are to you just as much as they are to me.
Anyway I digress. I'm not going to share the entire letter with you guys this time but I am going to relay some things that were said that I think you should read. In reality it will be the entire thing with the exeption of a P.S. at the end.
I opened the card and handwritten in blue ink is the following:
Dear Steve,
Thank you for your note and the t-shirt. However most importantly, thank you for your support. These have been tough times for Chiefs fans and I appreciate you and the other true supporters - Thank You.
This note is somewhat behind schedule because I try to get to them personally and I sometimes fall behind...
I'm writing this Sunday night along with some others on my pile because I can't sleep (we just lost to Dallas). I wandered the parking lots after the game, thanking fans... I saw the passion and the class and the trust...
Thanks to you and the people supporting us... We will get there - "The Chiefs" are the reason my family and I came here. "The Chiefs" are not only in this building that I work - It is the fans and I am working for you too...
Again, Thank you for the support -
Scott Pioli (Signed)
I'll post a pic of it when I get a chance if you would like.
All I can say is WOW. Jason Witlock and all the other haters can kiss my ***.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

That's killing me too
I’d pay good money to know what the p.s. says… unfortunately, good money to me is $5 cash, and $4 worth of hamburger meat…

Very nice, thanks for sharing OCF!
Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!
I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.

Thanks OCF!
It is very nice to know that our “War Chief” is taking the time to notice the fans and thanking them for their contributions.

This is the kind fo stuff that makes me appreciate the new Mgmt.
Sure, we all might be disappointed, but Pioli isn’t used to having a poor team in a very long time and it obviously bothers him as well.
Like I said numerous times, give the HC 3 years to make an impact and the GM 5 years.
Pioli has my support and I’m rooting for him not only because it’s our team and we want to win, but because he also takes the time to appreciate the fandom.
Bill Parcell’s: "You are what your record says you are."
"My job is not to collect talent, but to build a team. Individuals make the Pro Bowl. Teams win championships. That is our goal."—Chiefs GM Scott Pioli.

OCF is a celebrity among us!:)
Great job OCF!
We have to run the gauntlet over the next few weeks, we will be better for it. Pioli is not done with the roster, he will improve it. LJ is getting ready to start whining again.

Kudos to the Don.
Very, very cool. For all of the flack they take from us, it is neat to have a GM that gives a damn.

Wow...
Major props to the Don for going the handwritten route with his, and even putting in a reference for when he wrote it (Yeah, go ahead and think he could have known we were going to lose months ago). Gotta give it to the new management. Even if it’s just an aspect of all the attention AP has been getting lately, it’s a big deal that each of the big three have made an effort to bring up the shirts or send letters to OCF. Now if we can just get the team into shape (wins rather than fitness) we’ll all be happy.

Just too cool
Seems fairly clear from a couple of posts now that Pioli has a real respect for the fans.

I don’t care what happens this year, Pioli will have this team win a super bowl I know it, I feel it and can hear it coming!!!!!!!!!!!

We are in good hands!
The comment about walking the parking lot and thanking and interacting with fans is very cool how personal he makes this job. Also the comment about not being able to sleep due to the loss and getting back to us at AP. KC turnaround is a tough nut to crack…gonna take some time. Very cool how personal the letter sounds.
