Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

""I use so many lines and do so many things like Bill I don't even realize it,'' Haley says. "Mo Carthon and Dedric Ward were with Bill and are on my staff. Mo said after one staff meeting, 'I was looking down, listening, and had to look up to see who was talking. You sound just like Parcells.' I took that as a great compliment."

Good piece on Parcells, with quotes from Haley. Good insight on what makes our coach tick.

I liked this one
‘So we’re going to give up?" Haley says. "He looks at me and says, ‘Yeah, like you gave up when you couldn’t putt.’ (Haley tried to be a pro golfer). I thought he was going to punch me.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

The Backhanded Compliment
You sound just like Parcells.’ I took that as a great compliment."

I was watching a recent episode of “Mad Men” the other day and they had a great line…“When your mother-in-law says you look like Perry Mason, just remember, it’s not a compliment.” (because she’s calling you fat, not lawyerly).

A real compliment for Haley would have been “You coach just Parcells”, but he’s actually got a win a game for that to happen.

Predictions for 2009

1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.
