Former Chief and current Bucs defensive lineman Jimmy Wilkerson has five sacks already this season, matching his total for all of last season.
Gotta say I'm glad when I see former Chiefs succeed. Wilkerson's time in KC was uneventful but this goes to show you how a change in scheme can really help a player.

I don't know. He was above average when he was here. I am not sure if it has anything to do with scheme.
I think we just underestimated his character and desire to play and let him go to early.

Or
A change in coaching. Funny how Tim Krumrie couldn’t get results out of the guy.
Oh right, that’s because Krumrie’s incompetent.

Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.

Right
Has nothing to do with scheme, all has to do with coaching. Tampa runs the 4-3 just as we did.

Krumrie Has Been Terrible No Matter What Defense He's Coached In
Go through his history. He’s been a defensive line coach for a long time…the only time he’s had success was when he inherited guys others trained up, but he’s developed very few good defensive linemen himself.
And no, scheme really doesn’t matter…because he was just as ineffective in 4-3s. Most of his career was spent in 4-3 defenses being ineffective and developing nobody.

The Colt playoff game
…Jimmy was always a solid player coming off the bench but in the Indy playoff game Herm’s first year he was a monster at 3-technique DT—and then they drafted Tank and Turk and Jimmy said he realized he didn’t have a future here.
