When will Goff be sat down?

It may just be me, but it seemed that when Goff went out, we got more push, and protection with Alleman in there. Goff was part of a no standing wanna be block that could of cost us the game. The real weakness in our line seems to be in the middle between Niswanger, and Goff, could be both guys though. Niswanger is also very suspect as a center. We are not quite halfway through the season, would it really hurt to shake up the middle of our o-line? Next, why in the heck is Larry get blown on fall down Johnson still there? He has no life left in him, Mr smokealot down in Miami still runs hard, he is older than LJ why won't LJ still run hard? Just a few questions fellas, soryy if this has been hashed out over, and over again.

the right time to sit Goff?

Yesterday.

Make it happen.

give me Ndukwe at RG, or Alleman…

I can’t imagine the coaches aren’t thinking about doing it

No wonder SD let him go, wow!

We have to run the gauntlet over the next few weeks, we will be better for it. Pioli is not done with the roster, he will improve it. LJ is getting ready to start whining again.

Until we have another Tackle on the roster Nduckwe can't go to Guard.

Alleman seems to have something but 4 plays ain’t enough time to tell.
Agree with Eric we need to try it just do we want Wade Smith as the backup LT?

We Will kick at least 4 Teams Asses in 09
And Succop will be the Key in two of them.

Can't hurt. We do need to find out if "Jane" has become Tarzan.

another spot to determine pr off-season.

exactly...

Gotta get another Tackle on board, even if it is Richardson

Doesn't matter

who the backup is, as long as they are the backup. I’d rather have Ndukwe at guard & Alleman at center rather than think that we have to keep one of them on the bench as a backup. They are younger & we need to see just how they perform. We already know what we currently have in those slots & it ain’t working. If someone gets hurt, we can always rearrange them then.

I'm with you

Gimme Albert, Waters, Niswanger, Alleman, O’Callaghan for the next few weeks and I’ll be real interested to see what we get. The only tweaks I’d care to see beyond that would be to slide Alleman in to Center and plug Ndukwe in at RG.

Yes it would be interesting to see.

History says Ndukwe is a solid guard.

I noticed the line improved when he was out as well

When he (and Albert for that matter) left the game, our protection got much better and that was when we started to drive down the field.

With Alleman, and Ndukwe

we did not use a draft pick for depth did we? They would have to be an upgrade over what we have.

We have to run the gauntlet over the next few weeks, we will be better for it. Pioli is not done with the roster, he will improve it. LJ is getting ready to start whining again.

The coaches were probably striving for line continuity

It is becoming abundantly clear that the problem is not necessarily a continuity problem. Goff and Rudy are just being manhandled whether they are working together or not. I would rather see a backup hold his own with somebody even if the defender isn’t his responsibility.

All losses in the 2009 season will be Herm and Carls fault.

We had planty of continuity last year,

did not help much with little talent. Wish we would make a move already.

Niswanger was still in there when Alleman played

Maybe Goff is almost the entire problem with Mac out here

I say who...

cares about continuity at this point. There could be 5 new starters on the line come opening day next year. (If Albert and Waters are moved around)

by I_Bleed_Red. on Oct 14, 2009 8:15 AM CDT up reply actions

I do remember thinking...

there was more of a run push with Alleman. I don’t remember pass rush issues being better or the same.

There just seems to be a breakdown every play. A lot of the time up the middle, granted.

I remember one pass play with Alleman

and Cassell actually had a pocket. Cassell seems to have improved with more playing time, now if he actually had time to throw on a consistent basis, maybe he would get more consistent.

I would like to know if

Goff sucks because he is playing next to Niswanger or vice versa. I don’t remember Niswanger being the cream puff last year that he is this year.

All losses in the 2009 season will be Herm and Carls fault.

by Idahochief on Oct 13, 2009 7:42 PM CDT reply actions

I never liked the Goff move from the beginning ...

and I like it even less now than I did when it happened … but again, I think people need to bear in mind that, for this year, the organization (translation: Pioli & Haley) could care less about winning games and are intent on player evaluations … it’s the only way one can explain the personnel moves, the players who are in games vs players who are sitting, the firing of Chan Gailey and tossing out the playbook/scheme/terminology just before the season began, and maybe most telling of all, the second half of the Eagles game

I was just

about to make this post. I thought I was the only one. Other than the 2 bonehead plays (the hold and wanting to see how hard Demarcus Ware could hit a QB if he ran through untouched) that Wade Smith made, the line actually looked solid. I dont want anyone to get hurt, but Goff has to come out of the line up.

It will be interesting to see how the interior line does this week

matched up against Haynesworth.

it's been all downhill since Roaf, Shields and T-Rich left us

We AT LEAST should not have let Richardson go. That killed our running game for good.

Yeah, like a third Guard

that was a bad call to let Richardson go

Yeah...

Thomas Jones looks like a stud with T-Rich as his lead blocker. Makes me wonder what he did to tick off Carl Peterson.
