How is it we are willing to bench, trade or disregard our best defensive player because he IS an underchiver, yet keep picking up other players that are not wanted by others teams and for obvious reasons (they can't play). Leonard Pope has accomplished nothing, but because he has CONNECTIONS to Parcells, Belichick or Mr. 22 he is fair game. While the best player is regulated to the bench. Not playing him only reduces his value and guess what it also reduces the chances of already hesitant free agents from considering KC as their destination. Who wants to play for ego manic that has no real accomplishments himself, unless you call being footballs version of John McEnroe an accomplishment. Not to offend Johnny Mac because he has accomplished something. It seems that he has harsh words for players between each possession. The idiot even had words for the punter, our second best player. We look like an bottom of the barrel division 1AA team. We have only been in one game this year and that was against the Raiders. Dallas had at least two touchdowns dropped and played uninspired football, made HUGE mistakes and still beat us. I'm suprised that our players are keeping their heads up despite the fact that Mr. 22 is giving them nothing to work with, but mean stares, harsh words and a college game plan.

Who's are best defensive player again?
Are you talking about DJ? Are you sure of this? Would you stand face to face with Haley and tell him this? I don’t think you really would because we all know he’s smarter than you and you’re saying DJ is our best defensive player simply based on an assumption with no real facts to back it up. The guy was a first round pick, yes. He hasn’t done JACK since we drafted him other than show flashes here and there and create a really over the top website.

Actually Pope played in one series, he had one catch for 8 yds. He’s been with the Chiefs for a total of 13 days now.

wow dude…seriouisly?!?!?!?! this was not a good post at all. Why do people get so upset about Haley yelling. Is he just supposed to sit back and allow shitty play without saying a word until he gets fired. I don’t care of Dustin Colquitt is the second coming of christ. If he has a bad punt he needs to hear about it. I don’t think Haley is cutting anyone down just letting them know that they messed up and need to improve. Also i have always pulled for DJ but the fact is he hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations. Give the guy time, we gave Herm three years and i never like herm because he never did shit with the Jets. Haley has the right attitude to get it done and i know he will…….I mean did anyone really expect us to have a winning record. The only game to be upset about is the Oakland game…things will get better. CHILL BRO

alright my bad. if i pissed anyone off im sorry. i just feel that if you post negative posts about the coaches or players then you should expect to get some negative feedback. good looking out on the warning but i just didn’t feel there was any violation but i guess you would know better than me. i just didn’t agree that haleys attitude is a bad thing or has anything to do with why we are 0-5

i dont think his attitude is that bad and with vajazz on dj not playing. if the only reason we have l j playing is salary then why not dj? but i do try to remain positive and let those who are trained for the decisoins make them. :)

Yes I’ll tell Mr 22 that our BEST DEFENSIVE player is DJ. No one has done more with more playing time than DJ has in limited playing time. And Haley yelling and fussing has amounted to HOW many victories? His way has amonted to how many victories? We are not upset about Mr. 22 yelling, but if you guys think that yelling and screaming is motivating anyone on this team than 5-0 should be our record. Again he don’t want to accept other peoples faults, yet we are suppose to accept his. DJ is a far better player than Leonard Pope will ever be. And exactly how long has he been with the Chiefs and what has he done for the Chiefs. NOTHING. Yet he is playing. Lets face it Mr. 22 is a hypocrite. Underachiever yes DJ is that. But he is our best D player regardless if Mr. 22 or you guys are willing to admit it. Still waiting for my way or the highway to produce a solid game let alone a win.

but I can’t say for sure how he is handling himself…he does yell a lot..for sure…but then in interviews he stuck up for Bowe and Williams ya’ know what I mean??
so did he have “the talk” with the boys and let them know not to take it personal when he yells cuz that’s just his way…so they know that and cope with it correctly?? it’s hard to say cuz we aren’t privy to locker room talk ya’ Know?
but if what we see is ALL there is to it….he might need to chill until he is a winning coach…or else he may be unemployed and angry..

I don't really agree with everything in the post but...
DJ IS definitely one of the best players on this defense and there is NO logical reason for him to be on the bench. Especially for an entire game. The fact is that he has made the 2 most exciting plays on defense that we have seen and he is riding the pine.
It’s like Haley is punishing players for being talented. I am sure that DJ has copped some attitude with Haley for the way he’s handled all of this but really, who can blame him. The dude has made plays and he is still riding the pine. sounds to me like a serious lack of communication between these two. they need to work it out.

If Haley does have a problem with DJ then his days are numbered. In training camp he was all excited about how DJ was taking to ZT and the defense. Did all of the falling out start when they got rid of ZT?

I don't understand this whole DJ fixation
He has about one good game a year and disappears for the remainder of the season. He’s a “combine LB” that hasn’t even come close to playing to his potential. I don’t know why, but he’s not the first gifted athlete that couldn’t use those gifts to be any more than average. Frankly I’m tired of hearing every season that “this was a break out game for DJ” only to have him show conclusively that it wasn’t. I’d be thrilled to have someone demonstrate that he’s REALLY ready to be a consistent playmaker now. Please, I’m from Missouri, SHOW ME!
