Predict the Rest of the Season
So, here we are, the murder's row to begin the season is through. It went as bad as possible and the Chiefs are 0-5. We should have beaten the Raiders, and had a chance to upset a wildly over-rated team yesterday. In reality we had no chance against the other three teams. They are all super bowl contenders and far above us right now.
So is all lost? In reality it gets a lot easier from here and we can really make some progress the rest of the way. So, how many games can we win this season? Let's look at the schedule.
Next is the Redskins. That team is in so much turmoil and I think our D-line will dominate them. We get our first win. That's one.
Then we get the Chargers at home. We always have a chance against the Chargers at home and they don't look right. They have a lot of injuries. I think we split the season series with them, home and home.
After a bye, we go to Jacksonville. I can not figure this team out, but when they show up they dominate. It's on the road and they will get to Cassel. We lose.
Oakland is spiraling into oblivion. We win in Oakland, get revenge.
We aren't on the Steelers level, not even close. I think we make the game interesting, but we will lose.
I do think that the Broncos are better than I thought, obviously. Which I hate to say. But I also don't think they are this good. I'm stubborn. I think we get them at Arrowhead and split the season series. I could easily be wrong.
That leaves the Browns. Bengals and Bills. We get two out of three. We are simply better than the Browns and the Bills are starting to fall apart. Plus, both those games are at home. I am thoroughly impressed with the Bengals, we lose that game. It will be close.
Let's see that puts at 6-10, 5-11 if we can't beat the Broncos. We would probably in the bottom of the top ten in next year's draft. That is a record I can live with.
So, agree, disagree? I've mostly focused on the situations of the teams we play, but what do you guys think?

I Think We Beat The Browns, Maybe The Bills
And maybe the Raiders. We won’t beat the Bengals…they’ve actually been a good team this year and except for a fluke play against Denver should be undefeated.
So basically, with a little luck I see us winning maybe three games. I can also see us losing every single game this year.

Predictions for 2009
1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West. Revision: We go 5-11 and finish behind Oakland.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.
8. The Chiefs will have a bottom 10 defense this year.
9. RB will be a problem area this season on offense.

I feel very confident against the skins..
but if we don’t win there…it’s more than possible that we go 0-16. At some point you need a win to start winning. I know that sounds cliche’ but I mean it.
You need a win to convince yourself that you CAN win. I believe our team BELIEVES they will lose right now and it shows. They almost expect to blow it at the end of the game, but that’s fair since they have for two years now. You get my meaning?
If we don’t yank one from the Skins, we are in serious trouble going into the final stretch. I believe the Skins game is pivotal and immensely important for our psyche as a team.

I would love to see a win vs. Washington (and many more)
But if we can’t tackle and block (pretty rudimentary skills)—we won’t win a game. And somehow we make the average look like HOF players. I hope the good players (Moss, Portis, Cooley)just don’t look better, or were in for a looong day. If Campbell gets hot, he will throw for 300+.

It will be interesting to see
I think we win get wins at Oakland, and at home vs the Browns and Bills. The games at home against Denver and SD I say we pull off one of the two. I’d love to see a win at Wahington this week, but after how we made Steve Smith and Miles Austin look these last 2 weeks I’m really worried about Santana Moss. I’ll say 4-12.
It's a good thing Pioli and Haley aren't running AP or a lot of you guys would of been traded or cut for cast offs from the Pats Pulpit.

Ok this is generous but hey why not we're 0-5. I'll go:
Washington – W
San Diego – L
Jacksonville – W
Oakland – W
Pittsburgh – L
San Diego – L
Denver – L
Buffalo – W
Cleveland – W
Cincy – L
Denver – L

I say we beat Denver twice this year
I’m not kidding. They have a ton of confidence right now but I really don’t think they’re as good as they think they are, which is going to hurt them when they start playing real teams. I know the Pats were a real team but it was McDaniels vs. his old team so that was a bit of a fluke and NE doesn’t look anywhere near what they have been in recent past.

let me add by saying
the Chiefs are looking stronger each weak and our schedule is getting weaker with the exception of Pittsburgh. Cincy could create problems for us as well because I think they look pretty legit except for their defense which gives up leggett-esqe big plays here and there. The rest of these teams are chumps, though. We should start seeing some wins coming and I hope we find a way to ruin Denver’s Cinderella season.

All I know is we better get at least 3 wins or Todd Haley should be fired for his "22 guys off the street" comment.

And I'll ask again
do you have any proof that Haley ever said that from anyone besides Whitlock? For several reasons I don’t think he ever said that.
