Derrick Johnson, the former first-rounder of the Chiefs, must be in the dog house. He never seems to find the field for the Chiefs, and last year he was one of their better players. I’m sure he’s available for trade if a team is looking for a fast-flowing backer.

either use him or trade him
no use having him sit on the bench

Can't trade him
If nobody wants him mid-season.
Really, DET would be the only team I can think of that might be interested in him.
The Kansas City Chief's 2009 record will be 5-11.

Kinda sounds like D Williams already replaced him anyway

Haley Has said several times
He doesn’t like Up and Down guys that show up for a great game and then disappear for the next 10.

If we wont use him
then trade him. He has value. DET would consider this and so would other teams. His contract isnt that big and plus he will turn into a beast with a good DC. Our loss if we trade him but since Haley isn’t considering starting him then put his ass on the trade block for some draft picks.

why do people assume that detroit would be interested in trading for johnson? they have peterson, foote and sims starting.

Great point
In addition, who said Gun even likes DJ. If his inability to get over small injuries is true then he is def not the hard nosed type of defensive player that Gun gets excited about. He may think DJ is a pussy too, he just never came out and said it to the media.
What a waste of talent DJ is, just a freak of nature physically but he obviously has some mental performance issues. At least that is my take on a yo-yo type player, just not in the game mentally or can’t focus on the details to become consistent.

People assume
Detroit will take any player, maybe because they suck so bad who knows?

I dont even know who theyre LB are...
i just assumed because of Gun. is the DC and DJ was one of the better defensive players when he was with us.

The same reason
Turk wound up in DET. He already knows Gun’s system.
Also, I think they only signed Foote to a one year deal after PITT let him go. Doesn’t sound like they consider him part of their long term plans yet.
The Kansas City Chief's 2009 record will be 5-11.
